So a few weeks ago, I picked up a 1976 Honda CB750F SuperSport for $300. I also picked up a second one for $200 which has all the parts I need to the the '76 running.
Currently, the parts bike is stripped and frame disguarded (previous owner cut the frame to work on the head, moron!) and the other bike, the one im restoring, is in my garage. Each night, Im putting a bunch of time into the bike and doing the restore.
So far, I have:
Sanded down the tank and am sealing any tiny holes and getting it ready for paint.
Pulled the seat apart and am fiber glassing a new seat pan to use since the old one is rusted to ****.
Rewired the entire bike and rebuilt all the controls.
Replaced the suspension with good suspension off the parts bike.
Cleaned the carbs and am currently rebuilding them.
Rebuild the front break master cylinder
Soon to be done:
Reupholster the seat with new foam
Powder coat the rims and re lace them.
replace the handle bars
Run an oil cooler
reassemble.
I cant wait to get it fully restored and back on the road, but I'm wanting to do it right so its taking extra time to soldier the connection, replace the bolts with better strength ratings, etc.
I have pictures of the rebuild at home on a camera, If anyone is interested, Ill post pics once I get a chance to get them off my camera!
Are there any other fellow bike enthusiast's here?
