icemanthrilla 05-08-2009, 09:31 AM Just got my new car n driver for the month and the cover has the v6 camaro vs the v6 genesis cpe.
camaro $23k 29mpg
genesis $26k 26mpg
havent read the whole story but i thought this was big news.
now of course this is car n driver and there are a ton of chevy ads up and down this beotch so im still slightly skeptical.
camaro runs 14.5 1/4
genesis runs 14.2 1/4
robdgaf 05-08-2009, 10:02 AM damn im really thinking about getting an camaro ss next year. for 30k you cant go wrong.
UN4GTBL 05-08-2009, 10:02 AM if this is true, its hilarious
icemanthrilla 05-08-2009, 10:07 AM no u cannot rob.

Bro you buy that, and you dont have to worry about the Genesis. Cam, mild tune and basic mods = domination. Maybe some spray for fun.
icemanthrilla 05-08-2009, 10:10 AM they ran the manual to a 13.0 bone stock...
not bad for the same price as an r/t challenger but with srt8 performance. $35k w/options!!

and its made by the big three :bigthumb:
whoosh@Realtune 05-08-2009, 10:41 AM you can have the V6 camaro and Gen CP = no thanks
I'll take the V8 Camaro or the turbo 4 Gen CP
BTW, the only V6 ever worth owning IMO is the Buick 3.8 in the 86 & 87 GN's and 89 Turbo TA

i would never buy the genesis.. and ive never had a v8 before but have had 3 turbo cars
DRHEMI 05-08-2009, 12:53 PM Would never buy a Hyundai lol, Camaro SS maybe, Ill just wait for the new LY seriese Challenger with the 6.4 :bigthumb: if Obama and the bankruptcy doesnt kill Chrysler first lol :jester:

i would rather have the challenger but its like 15k more for the srt
mattyice 05-08-2009, 02:30 PM actually the camaro is 1,300 more if they are equipped the same way base genesis vs. 2LT camaro
i think i will take a lighter car with a smaller engine and still own either for 1/3 the cost
MacOne 05-10-2009, 01:49 PM BTW, the only V6 ever worth owning IMO is the Buick 3.8 in the 86 & 87 GN's and 89 Turbo TA
QFT
one of my favorite cars......i will buy one to restore one and mod one day.
icemanthrilla 05-10-2009, 05:47 PM I had a couple friends with them. The turbo t/a's like whoosh said also had that motor and had a higher top end mph.
But the awd and the turbo 6 in the typhoon and syclone made for a he'll of a combo.
I've never seen a syclone on the streets but have got the opportunity to see a few typhoons.
Man are those sweet!!
blacks10 05-10-2009, 06:12 PM i checked out the local dealerships.........The gen coupe was $25k- 4cyl turbo loaded, $28k- 6cyl loaded......both stick shift.
Camaro 6 cyl $30,5xx....had sunroof lol all i noticed after the price.....
HIGHBRED8 05-10-2009, 09:02 PM i would rather have the challenger but its like 15k more for the srt
not me. i liked the challenger when it first came out. but now i see at least 5 everyday, from 6cyl's to srt's. the car is everywhere, it made a really cool car kinda lame imo.
i havent seen 1 camaro yet. plus i think it looks better.
jdm1985 05-11-2009, 07:20 AM I don't like the way the back of the Camaro looks. The rest of the car looks pretty good. I still would rather have a Challenger.
icemanthrilla 05-11-2009, 09:44 AM the rear is debatable, but wait till someone slaps a nice set of wide rims/tires out back, then i think it will look lightyears better.
im still more in tune with the powertrain the chevy has. its just way too much of a performance deal.
high 12's low 13's for as low as $30k?
ridiculous. let alone once u start modding.
dont get me started on ls motors :nono:
