It is called "Custom Chrome" I got it at Pep Boys. They had one for doors also but this one was actually for grills. It has tape on the back you peel off and it just stick son...no wrap around or clip on.

When the PT's came out we all did the strips on our grills till the mods were made for inserts and total replacements. I still have a roll of 3M strips in the gayrage that Deb wants me to install on the Cal:D

I found some cheep stuff at AutoZone, but man its garbage.

any body/collision supply shop. or check on line. I used mine as a body line wrap on my PT. Still looks great. It comes in different widths and lengths in a roll. Also they make it in chrome, black,color changing,(colour) for you Canadians, gold

my only question... the 3m tape stuff, if i don't like it after it's done does it hurt the paint at all is it like i can remove it if i want or whats the deal with that stuff?

Aw crap! I thought I got the right stuff but it was from pep boys? Shoot! The stuff I got is from Advance and it was only $4.99, bet it won't look as good.

I does come in 1/4 inch size but I wouldn't do it. I actually ordered custom fit chrome door handle covers on ebay, should get them soon and I'll popst pictures.

You could use something like this for the moldings BUT the Dodge OEM moldings are cut to fit the lines of the car exactly. I would bite the bullet on that one and get them from the dealer or on ebay, that's where I got mine. It was about $100 for them on ebay.

how easy is it to install the chrome moldings you got on ebay? how did you remove the body color molding that came on the SXT from the factory?

My husband was convinced that the adhesive on the stock moldings would require a solvent or scraping or something to remove once the moldings were pulled off(just used our hands, lifted a corner and pulled). I didn't think so..I was right. We literally removed the left on adhesive with our fingers by rolling the "gunk" with our thumbs.

The new ones went on just as easy as the stock ones came off. The only tricky part was making sure they all lined up right. I would have an extra set of eyes for that part.

It took a whole 20 mins and was very easy.

thanks for the info. good to know the factory moldings are on there well ha. i guess it does make for an easy change. i'm thinking of getting the chrome ones to break up the color of the black sxt i got.
