I had to install a muffler on the caliber. Way to loud on the highway.

So we installed a magnaflow muffler with tip. Same ones that maxxfab uses on the neon.
Install was tricky but worked and came out great.

I love the way it sounds now. Very deep. No more drone on the highway. I'm also running a dynomax bullet style resonator. That by itself wasn't enough.

I'm still going to be making the o2 housing. Getting rid of the 1st cat. Should sound good without that cat.

Going to the Dyno this saturday. More videos soon

Few pics and the video

Good luck making the 02, the bends are crazy up there and the flange needs to be 3.7". Expanding the pipe to that size when your on a bend is the killer. The 02 is the most restrictive part of the exhaust.

Yea should be fun to make. :)

DCRs o2 housing is 3.5" flange opening. My friend has one. Going on tomorrow. Looking at dcrs pipe it shouldn't be that bad. Just need alot of bends on hand. lol

Sounds really good.Do you have anymore pics of what the muffler looks like under the car? What else is done to your exhaust or is it still stock except for the muffler and resonator? Thanks for the pics and vid and good luck on your dyno session.Keep us posted on results and mods.

If you want to save $ then i can sell you ubends and a flange.

that exhaust looks great, what size tip is that ?, 3.5 or 4 inch ?, either way it looks better than stock. sweet.

it's a 4" tip 6" long. muffler body is oval and 14" long. I think the 7" tip might look a little bit better but they only have it in the double wall. I like the single wall slant cut.

take a few pieces of tissue and wad them up and loosley stick them in that air channel. Go out and do a few pulls. I'll bet the tissue is still in there. Point being you can ditch that piece.

What did you use for the Wideband face? Never thought about that before...

huh? Ditch the muffler? I didn't put it on for performance. This is my daily driver so I can't be driving around with a 3" straight pipe. I also like to take this car on the highway for road trips. My wife hated the exhaust before now she approves. :)
It's not chambered so its not hurting any performance that much. Anyway i'll find out saturdays dyno day.

My friend makes them. Just an overlay over the stock aem face

The only thing I don't like is the muffler shaking around and how low the pipes are.

hey has anyone done any dyno testing to see what an exhaust will add and witch one should i go with???

yeah you gotta figure that it's a straighter shot than the stock muffler. If you're going to dyno it that would be perfect. I'm willing to bet you'll find 5whp with it, perhaps even more if you didn't restrict any of the piping size below 3 inches (sometimes mufflers and resonators neck down internally). Otherwise you should be good to go. I know how it feels to have a wife and loud exhausts, sometimes you just need to compromise between the noise of your exhaust and the noise of your wife, he, he, he, lol. Honestly, I don't like loud exhausts myself, had enough of them over the years and I don't need that anymore. Good power with smooth sound is hard to beat. Good luck, keep us posted.

All 3" piping. Muffler is a straight through 3" design. Anything flows better then stock.
I will still be dynoing with 1 cat but my friend will be dynoing same day with no cats, no muffler only 1 resonator. So we will compare.
Also going from a straight 3" with 1 resonator to 3" with one resonator and a muffler, I don't notice any power loss at all.

The muffler moving is going to happen. It's hanging off a rubber hanger.
The pipe hanging to low is my fault. Once I get my o2 housing in I'm going to redo the rear section. Trial and error.

Keep us posted with the dyno results and different exhaust comparisons.I'll probably be looking at trying to upgrade my CSRT4 exhaust too and my wife will definately have a "say" in how it has too sound.lol.I've been trying to find video clips of a CSRT4 with a 3" O2/downpipe with high flow cat and cat back section with a high flow muffler.I haven't found any yet or any dyno results with this combination either.I know there must be this combo on the street but I haven't had any luck hearing them on vids yet.Your exhaust sounds pretty good to me so good luck on the dyno.
