Well, the girlfriend saw that I was hurt with the damage I got on the car, and bought me the Mothers Clay Bar kit and the Deep Crystal Polish for my Car, so I can get to work and try and clean it up.

Needless to say, my car has been filthy and I wanted to show the before and after and also compare Wax vs Claybar/Polish/Wax and see how big a difference it makes.

So here are the Pics of the car dirty as all hell

Here is the car after washing it, still wet. I used Eagle One Nanowax Car Shampoo to wash it

I will keep you folks updated WITH PICTURES while I go through the steps and process. I will also take pictures of the damaged area after I clay bar it, polish and wax it, to see if it cleans up any.

Stay tuned! I will be up all night doing this car :)

Black cars are so nice looking when they are clean... but so nasty when they are dirty.

Keep us posted!

sorry to hear about the damage on the bumper! It always sucks on a new car!

At least its there, and not somewhere totally obvious...

Can't wait to see what it looks like cleaned up. And what your impressions are on the mothers kit. I used the same kit when i clayed my car too, and i liked it.

Here is an update on the detail so far. Just finished clay barring the car and man is it smooth now, I found a lot of rough spots on the hood, roof, and hatch, everything else was quite clean. The damage on the bumper looks confusing to me. It almost looks like the car was backed into something and didnt LAND on a curb. It just doesnt add up...i am beginning to wonder if it was already there...

Here are some pictures so far...

Now off to polishing...

it is a very strange scratch....almost looks like it scratched with a forward motion (and not a reverse motion) due to where the concentration of the scratch is.....if that makes any sense:notallthere:

did you pull out of the driveway nose first? if you did, this scratch could result from you eating the curb.

Well just finished polishing...and yes i was goofy around and taking extra breaks, so thats why it took a bit long. Plus the Deep Crystal Polish is the HARDEST polish to get off of a vehicle, but MAN does it work well with DARK paint :)

The Scratch, seems to be cleaning up a bit, but yes, it needs to be taken to a body shop, and I actually have a good friend who owns a body shop, who did my parents vehicle, and does GREAT work. I will have to call him tomorrow to get an estimate and all.

But here are the pictures, and you can tell the paint is beginning to get a nice deep luster in it...wet black paint appeal :)

Well I just finished waxing, and am i damn pleased with the results!

The depth and shine of the car is amazing! You can see the flake in the paint no problems now!

Tomorrow, I will finish with the trim, tires, fender wells, engine bay, and then the interior (which is pretty dirtied up too)

I am off to take a shower, and then get some sleep! Thanks for watching another episode of Goober Auto's...

You have quite the abusive relationship with your car.

You beat up on the broad, then go spend quality time and buy her stuff.

I got the underside of the front bumper today pulling into a shop. I suppose I'm going to learn to use an airbrush to keep this repaired.

Did you have any luck repairing the scrapes?

Got a "rattle can" from the dealer and hit the scrapes with that...ended up looking pretty good.
