You must have been seriously waiting like crazy for it to go live lol

So what do you think about the website so far? It was made pretty quickly but very carefully up until this point. I am still gonna be adding the NSRT4 section, but wanted to get the Caliber section up and running first as it is the new jive and all.

Give us your feedback!

Only the Caliber section is up right now [not finished either]. We have TONS and TONS of content and products to add. I still need to write the ''Who is Realtune section'' and add the contact information as well.

Again this is a work in progress, but I would like to hear some feedback on what we need to get up there and how you guys think its coming along.

Huge thanks to Goober!!

Nice job with the edit... I like the overall layout of the site, but the different product pages are a little awkward with the 3 column tables - particularly since you have price centered vertically. Personally I think it would be a little better down in 3 row tables.

One good thing about it is that you can edit it very easy. I do graphic design mostly but I also do websites and can work if flash too. If you guys need some stuff done let me know.

We kept it basic on purpose. We wanted a FAST loading page that had a decent layout that would allow the regular joe schmoe to navigate easily and find what he wants.

Granted the method IS outdated, but it is effective as well.

Not everyone cares for the newest and sickest eye candy and all, as for one, it takes longer to load, and is a bit more complicated to build.

As far as feedback, please keep it related to how the website looks now. Not with it being SO 2008 or whatever :)

And as far as help doing the website, I have it taken care of for now. When the website gets a LOT bigger, I will then ask Aaron for help and then he can do some recruiting :bigthumb:

Thanks

No need to get panties in a bunch over it. Todays websites are much faster loading then fronpage websites ever have a chance of being once there is a lot of content on it.

As far as website improvements:

- Take off the Clearline graphics permission from the header, it looks cheap, if they're **** about it put it in fine print on the bottom of the page, or just ask and I'll design you a new one in vector output so you can blow it up size of empire state building LoL.

- The Logo again has black background. I know you can't do transparency with frontpage but I suggest at very least putting a stroke around it so it stands off the page a bit.

- As for background, take the Realtune logo off or at very least, set it's opacity to 10-20% that way it's there but not obvious, and take off the ridged effect..

- Use other fonts then Arial or Times. Tahoma usually looks really nice and is supported by all browsers.

- Sidabars are cool too, you can jam lots of information in them about products you're offering.

- Ask questions or orger forms, but you need to know how to properly set up forms both on the website and on the server side.

Again, I'm not trying to insult you or your website making skills, I'm no fancy website designer either, but I consider Realtune a professional business so they should have a site that portrays that. I'm not advertising here cause I'm too busy working right now but if they need a logo or some other graphic design, I can throw something together for free.

Just give it time and as the site grows, it will gradually make the change to a full blown marketing tool. As of right now, its more about trying to take the heat off me and help explain what we do. Im very happy with how its going so far.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it is funny to me that you would say your not trying to be insulting, and then say a comment like, dont get your panties in a bunch. I told you that your suggestions are good, but the website will stay as it is now. If you dont like frontpage, then guess what, make your websites in something else. I like Frontpages ease of use, and enjoy it very much.

I am in no way, no bad ass at making websites, but I know what tends to work, without getting errors and garbage like that. Flash and big html coding seems to cause that, and makes viewing horrible.

As I said before, I will build the website as it is now, to get it running and get all the content up for the customer database. Then once it has grown a lot more, Aaron will probably want someone to help me out (or replace me), and we will go for a much more improved look which will still keep load times down, get the customer the content they need, and still be great for the company. But thats in the near future.

I like the background with it's asphault look with the logo, the pics, text and I like the way things are sorted now. More content will be added for viewers enjoyment VERY SOON.

As for the positive feedback from those helping out with how the website looks now, thanks! And for those trying to make their own website, thanks but no thanks. :bigthumb:

I made a comment to your previous post then gave you some positive suggestions to improve what you have there.

Now that you're bringing same stuff up again I have to comment on it.

Load times aren't even an issue on a blackberry let alone most peoples home pc's today, and you only get errors if you don't check your work. Every website publishing software today has a code check to tell you if you have errors in your code. WSIWYG software like Frontpage is very limited and geared towards IE, so you'll actually get more errors using it if people browse using Opera, Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc.

If you got good hosting like Lunarpages bandwidth and load time is least of your worries.

I'm gonna end this pissing match right here out of respect for Aaron

And this is my last comment as to the argument, as you have a PM... Your only thinking about yourself and those MOST other people. Some folks still dont have high speed internet and dont have the latest in phones, but invest rather in their vehicles and such.

HAHAHA!!!, what is this? website builders fight?!!

My OP, but i dont care and dont want anyone to do it, im just writing my OP cause everyone else did it too...

I use to make webpage (long time ago) when I was a teenager and a computer freak, I usually write the pages on html, I hated frontpage! , But I forgot almost 100% of that.
I think the webpage looks "cheap" and too simple, but Goob. said it was on purpose so, well When you decide to make it more comercial or more appealing to the people, you should add some kind of BAR on the Left side , with simple buttons, nothing too fancy or heavy. the background ..., Maybe if the background is white it will looks better, and also the "fixed" background thing, I HATE IT! (the background doesnt move).

Again thats just my Op and I dont expect anyone to do anything about it, also is not just RT web page, I just have most of the things it haves, on ANYONES web page.

I think it will look more professional if its just simple, white background, with a Good eyecandy Banner on the top, and simple bars with buttons on 1 or both sides...

Anyway, Good WORK to Goober, and Realtune, finally you guys have a webpage, VERY VERY GOOD, and like you said, now everytime I want to know anything about you products i just go to your website instead of asking here and waiting.

If you want it let me know i can send it to you or post it here maybe

BTW: I was bored, and I made a BANNER also, but there are a few things about it:
-I use pictures from members here on the forums, so I guess they have to approve it? or take them out
-It only includes Caliber SRT4, I really dont know, but maybe realtune sell things for other cars and I dont know if they want to use a "JUST CSRT4 BANNERS"
-Its not the prettiest or the best one someone can make, but I think it looks better than what it haves right now

Ok lets leave the new one up for a bit. We will get some more feedback and go from there :bigthumb:

What would happen if you made the background like a light grey instead of black. Would that make the logos in the back ground pop out more? And allow for more main logo variations?

Ok lets leave the new one up for a bit. We will get some more feedback and go from there :bigthumb:

What would happen if you made the background like a light grey instead of black. Would that make the logos in the back ground pop out more? And allow for more main logo variations?

lol, we need to do more PM's or AIM or something:bigthumb:

I was actually thinking about lightening up the background to a greyish color to help out the look!

the previous logo looked fine. I just made it more 3dish to make it pop and added a glow to the outeredges...if you want your stock logo back up, then let me know and your wish is my command.

I like the new 3d look especially with that blue swooshness going on lol

I really like the look of the new logo on the sight. Very nice job. I'm looking forward to the future additions
