2008 caliber starting problems

we ran into this problem last year, around the same time of year. car ran fine then we went to start it and nothing. It was a little on the cold side that day. A few days later it started right up. The next week or so no problems. Then my son had it at college and once again no crank no any thing. He went back out after calling, it started right up. Had it at home wouldnt start, called a mechanic to check it out he towed it and put a new starter in it. A week later we had a weather change once again no start. The same mechanic looked at it again. He put it on a computer, There were no codes to read. We (me and my wife and son) thought maybe it had something to do with the weather changes. I have tried to research similar problems to see what to do. We changed the starter, disconnected the battery for a period of time, holding the + and- cables together, and tried checking the switch the clutch peddle hits. I was thinking maybe it is an electrical problem that a sudden temp change would cause a metal connector to shrink. But then it wouldnt run all winter. Anyone have a clue?

The car started again, my son drove it to school and had the same problem. After drifting backwards the car would start by turning the key. A week later the same problem happened but this time all the tricks would not work. When turning the key the lights on the clock go dim and the fans turn off, as they are supposed to, but there is no crank. It must be more than a fluke if it is still not turning over for a week. If anyone has an idea please let us know. The charging battery light and check engine light are on the dash. Some friends suggested changing the starter relay, but I do not know where it is. Also, they suggested changing the ignition switch.

we sent it to a dodge dealer. They found corrosion at a relay. They will replace the relay tomorrow. If the wire harness needs replaced they have to order one. They said a few days till it comes in. I called a parts store, they had no listing for a starter relay.
