CVT stuck in low ratio

It happened suddenly at a stop.

The check engine yellow lamp appear and the CVT remains stuck in "low gear".
I could accelerate at much as the engine revs.

At 2500rpm i go 20 km\h, and i cannot get the cvt in manual mode either.
Anyone know what is this about?
Is it the CVT, the computer, some pump or another mechanism?

The car still drives great, all system working, no other weird symptoms, tremors ans such.
Just cannot go in the "upper" gear.

2007 SE, CVT, 160hp, 50.000 km.

ps.
I manage to crawl to the repair shop, but it is Saturday, and 2 day from a sign from the mechanic guy.
Any ideas?

thx

Sounds like its version of limp mode. Likely some sort of fault was detected by the PCM. Gotta get it scanned for codes. I hope its nothing serious.

Sounds to me like another broken CVT. Sucks dude, hopefully its just a fluke problem and clearing codes will fix it, but i highly doubt it.

Anyone ran into this kind of problem/simptom?
Im a light driver, didnt stress the CVT much, no burning tires etc.

Could it be a software problem? It didnt have any kind of simptoms before failing.

How much is a CVT replacement?

thx

Solved

It was a wire that corroded.
150$ to repair... very inaccessible they say.
For a 3 yr old car.. is weird.
A wire... lol

Now i all good again.
European model 2007.
No other problems except this.
