Weird light problem - Maybe TIPM related

Hi guys,

Recently, my rear lights/turn signals have started to turn on when I open a door while the car is not running. Lights stay on for about 5 minutes and then turn off.

I am suspecting a faulty TIPM since I already had a similar problem about 3 years ago when I bought the Caliber. I tried unplugging the battery, same thing happened.

My question is, can I replaced the TIPM without going to the dealer? How hard would it be? (I have limited knowledge of electrical stuff) Does this thing have to be reprogrammed or can I just replace it?

TIPM is not cheap replacement,I would find a dealer to reflash the
existing unit first,at least you will know if it is bad.
I am relatively sure that although the unit is easy to physically
replace that Starscan will be needed for full install/replacement.
