Looking into the Mopar Cat-back, is there a generic replacement (ala AEM vs Mopar Intake and KW Coilovers vs Mopar Coilovers). Who makes it Corsa? Can it be ordered cheaper without the Mopar label on it anywhere?
Regarding the FMIC upgrade- I see all but the JBM units route it to the lower part of the front bumper. Living in NJ where a front license plate is mandatory do you think that the plate will hinder it's airflow substantially?
you will be fine with whatever i/c you go with.
as for exhaust, you really dont need to replace the mid-pipe. it flows plenty and is already 3 inch, plus their are plenty of people making high 300 hp with it. bwoody makes a catback with different options.
I have the Mopar/Corsa exhaust and it sounds NOTHING like the way it does in that clip. I would say it sounds much like the way a Suburu STi w/ exhaust sounds (Deep & bellowing). Corsa does make the Mopar exhaust and it's actually cheaper w/ the Mopar label on it. I tried getting a price from Corsa and they came back with $1,500. I believe Modern Performance has it priced at $995.00. I bought mine new from a guy that retired from Chrysler so I got it for $600.00.
Does the Corsa/Mopar catback offer the same performance as free-flowing rear sections? In other words how good/free-flowing is the muffler on that setup?
Im not sure what your goals/usage for the car are but you may want to consider some of the minor things that I plan to do since we basically have the same mods.
Get the front motor mount - Helps ALOT when launching/wheelhop
Check Valve - 28$ From Realtuned and helps from leaking boost.
Wastegate would help hold boost and can only be increased slightly w/out being clamped fic due to the ecu.
Cutout - May want to look into a simple cutout exhaust piece (I paid 40$ from needswings and 25$ to have it welded on @ the exhaust shop). Noticeable difference when doing highway pulls or @ the track.
Clamp/FIC with the works gauges, injectors etc prob your biggest chunk of change but will also make the most power in the long run.
Singh auto/Ptp Flash - (I would wait for more results because i am but everything so far seems good) Removes all the annoying ecu limits, would prob be able to max out the stock turbo with good injectors/wastegate.
You may want to look into a few suspension mods also. Quick turbo car = money pit

I don't have a downpipe on my car, but the Mopar catback has less bends than the stock exhaust and it's also lighter then the stock exhaust. Much like an intake I never feel that exhaust nets you much gain in performance, but I guess you can feel a slight gain with it according to the but dyno. To answer your question about free-flowing...by having less bends, I would assume that it is a more free flowing exhaust compared to stock. The "muffler" is simply a horizontally mounted hollow stainless steel canister. The Mopar exhaust is the nicest "higher end" looking exhaust I have seen so far.
I noticed a little more getup and go with the MPx FMIC that I put in last weekend. Install is less than a perfect fit, but the price is lower than the others. As for exhaust, I noticed the most gain from the catted DP, didn't notice anything from the dual out muffler. For exhaust, if you dont want to spend a ton, remove the factory muffler and have a shop put a nice Magnaflow in there somewhere, then have whatever piping is needed bent up. You could probably put a long Magnaflow inline with the midpipe and get gains and not a ton more sound. You pretty much have similar mods to me, and also do not want to hack wiring as I do also. I picked up a used AGP WGA, hope to get it in soon to see if it helps out a bit.

I'm seriously looking into this exhaust now. From what I read it's pretty conservative sounding too. I don't want a fart can sound or for it to be too loud....well - only when I'm ON it.
whats wrong with the bwoody? its all stainless and you have choice of mufflers. that exhaust clip is without a muffler from the way it sounds, you can hear the turbo clearly.
oh and its half the price. the corsa is way over priced, i say get the bwoody and use the remaining money you would have left over that you would of spent on the corsa to buy half of your mod list.

I like it alot! It is conservative...it's noticable that you have aftermarket exhaust, but it's not cop noticable, if you know what I mean. It also looks real nice and clean. The muffler is tucked up behind the rear bumper so you cant see it. Believe me...it does not sound "tinny" or "ricer" at all. That exhaust in the video... I have no idea what the hell that was.

You aren't kidding about us having the same mods (though I don't have an exhaust beyond just the DP, and I'm still running the stock FMIC. I just got dyno'd today and put down almost identical numbers- 293hp/293tq. That's consoling because I was a bit heart-broken being the wimp out of the other 2 CAlibers that were dyno'd today. Though one had the PTP flash w/cattless dp and muffler delete, and the other was clamped. It's just nice to know the 290 range is about right for my mods and not LESS than I "should" be making.
I'm itchng to to a WGA and clamp now! However I may hold off to see what PTP does with this tune. May be a viable (if not better) alternative to splicing into my factory wiring harness *gulp*
