Remote Start Install

I am looking to install a BASIC remote start on my 2007 Dodge Caliber (base model). I need access to the ignition harness. I am not sure how to do this, and I don't wanna go breaking panels. Can anyone inform me on how to do this?

I would suspect you could/should access the harness at the distribution box in the engine bay.

If for some reason you need to get into the steering collum, I believe you will need what is know as a Security bit. It's a torque bit with a hole in the middle. I think it was the same size as a T15.
I will confirm the security bit requirement tonight when I get home (time permitting).

I think there should be someone that can guide you through which wires and where to connect to, on the forum.

These cars run on mostly data, so there is very few wires to hook up, I would make sure you get a reputable bypass module like ADS or fortin. You can find everything by just taking the lower dash panel off on the driver side. If you have the knee airbag there are 3 10mm bolts you have to get fron behind the airbag, after that i think its pretty straight forward. I will get you a wiring diagram when I get to work.

Amazon Amazon

buy that. its plug and play, and will bypass everything you need to

as for getting to the steering column, i dont think you will need any security torx, but i could be wrong. The cover for the top and bottom should just unsnap, or unscrew

"I just cant help thinking, thanks to all sorts of things, the environment, the economy, problems in the middle east, the relentless war on speed, cars like this will soon be consigned to the history books. I just have this horrible, dreadful feeling, what im driving here, is an ending..." - Jeremy Clarkson
