2008 caliber starting problems
we ran into this problem last year, around the same time of year. car ran fine then we went to start it and nothing. It was a little on the cold side that day. A few days later it started right up. The next week or so no problems. Then my son had it at college and once again no crank no any thing. He went back out after calling, it started right up. Had it at home wouldnt start, called a mechanic to check it out he towed it and put a new starter in it. A week later we had a weather change once again no start. The same mechanic looked at it again. He put it on a computer, There were no codes to read. We (me and my wife and son) thought maybe it had something to do with the weather changes. I have tried to research similar problems to see what to do. We changed the starter, disconnected the battery for a period of time, holding the + and- cables together, and tried checking the switch the clutch peddle hits. I was thinking maybe it is an electrical problem that a sudden temp change would cause a metal connector to shrink. But then it wouldnt run all winter. Anyone have a clue?
