Mystery brake light

I have an 07 Caliber, that I absolutely love!! However, I have a mysterious brake light on the instrument cluster that comes on randomly. Sometimes when I start my car, sometimes just as I'm driving down the road. No rhyme or reason. I've had it scanned for a code while it has been on but got no results. Is this typical in Calibers or is mine just the oddball??

Could it be the e-brake/parking brake light? Could be a loose contact.
Do you use your parking brake regularly?

I have the same problem. It just started recently. When I apply the parking brake the light comes on and when I release the brake the light goes off, however, after I drive off the light and chime will come on randomly even though I have not touched the parking brake. Guess it could be the parking brake switch that is loose or shorting out. Anyone out there have a solution for this. As you will see in my signature I'm close to 70,000 km and this is a new issue for me.

An added problem came when I tried to remove the center console to get to the handbrake switch. There are supposed to be two screws at the front of the console and two in console storage section. Found those OK but not the screws at the front. Has anyone removed the console that surrounds the handbrake? If yes did you find the front screws or remove it some other way?
