Re: Oregon & Washington Calibers
Hi Savimia....We had about 10 said they were coming. But like you, lots of people must have had conflicting appointments. Stella had planned to come from Oregon & tried to get others from Oregon to come, but thinks fell apart. We ended up with 3. But normko, danut & I jabbered & drove each other's cars for 3 hours. ha ha ha Danut & I had license plates with the same letters & only 3 numbers apart! Danut had bought his SXT about a week before I did from the same dealer, but we never met before the Caliber Meet! We laughed about that for a while. It was so weird because I have a marine blue & danut pulled up next to me & his car was marine blue. Same color & almost the same plates. I thought I was in the twi-light zone. Norm had a Sunburst Orange.
Norm, Danut & I compared lots of Caliber differences since we each had a different model. Norm had the R/T with lots of chrome & he wanted more chrome. Danut & Norm had musicgate, so I got to hear the difference from my radio. Their's sure sounded good! But I'm glad I saved $800. That's what they call the free enterprise system. Ya pays what ya pay...or don't.
Heavy dark clouds rolled over the dealership, but there were only 2 short periods of v. lite sprinkles & that was all. The clouds really were dramatic, but covered the face of Mt Rainier. I had brought my binoculars along, but we never got a look at mount Rainier which is so close.
Norm has had a long & good life, being both an engineer, but with a saleman's knack. I like to buy things from salespeople that really know their products. All together Norm owned over 90 cars as he drove around on his rounds.
Danut had the 5 speed manual & it was neat to drive & see how different it was from the CVT. Norm & I told him all about the CVT, but when Danut drove the CVT he still thought it was really weird.
Norm said there is a wonderful picnic area 2 miles up the road from the Enumclaw Chrysler dealer, if we decide to have another meet later this summer. It would be great if more Caliber people showed up.
