Weird thing when letting out clutch...

Long time no talk here...

Anyways...

I have my first issue with my SRT. Sometimes (not all the time) when I go to take off and let the clutch out it feels like its engaging and disengaging itself. I guess it feels like you didn't give it enough gas and it starts the bucking thing even tho you really did give it enough gas. Even when you get going down the road sometimes it will feel like the clutch is kicking in and out. To me, it sounds like the clutch is $hitting the bed. If true...this sucks because I doubt this is covered under warranty.

Any thoughts on what it may be? Has anyone else had this issue?

Have any of you tried re-setting the throttle calibraton?
Turn ignition to ON, let sit til ALL the lights go off. I beleive there WILL be one or two lights that will stay on.
In this position, depress the throttle to the floor in a 15 second period.
After you bottom out the throttle, start letting the throttle back up.
Both down and up, need to be done in a 15 second period.
Then turn ignition to OFF, DO NOT START the vehicle.
Let set for a good 10 minutes and this re-calibrates the throttle.
I am NOT saying this is your problem, but worth the try !

The only mod I really have is Stage 1, which isn't installed right now because its winter. I also have Iridium spark plugs in.

Another thing I've noticed and its done this since day one is the clutch engages really hard. It also makes a loud clunk when you get on and off the gas like when driving through town or whatever. Maybe they all do this?

At first I thought it was just the cold weather causing this, but I was just took this car from NY to FL this past week and it did it down in Florida too.

Mine does seem to do it more when its really cold, but does sometimes still do it even after driving it a bit with it fully warmed up.

I checked the warranty status of the clutch...its covered for the first 12,000 miles...I have 14,000. *sighs*

I wish I knew what it was. It really sucks for this to be happening, especially like if you're at a stop light and you're the first car in line. I have noticed that if I give it like 2,000 or 2500 RPM and let the clutch out it never does it. I can't do that all the time though because when its snowing you simply can't do that. All you'll get is wheel spin.

I was going to operate the clutch while my dad looked at it if all possible. Otherwise its off to the stealership to see how much money they can yank out of my pockets!

If were still doing SRT Chat Sessions (I dunno as I haven't been here in a while)...maybe its a good question to ask the SRT Engineers if all possible.

Thanks for you help...does anyone else have any ideas?

EDIT:

The only other thing I can try just to try it, is to put the Stage 1 computer back in and see what happens. I don't really want that as I don't want all that extra boost and power in the winter, but if it solves the problem then I'll just deal with it.

If you're in need of new clutch after they check it out, lay your eye on the clutches realtune offer from SBC. Cheaper and better than OEM replacement.

this has happened to me a few times but only after its first cold start.

i would actually say that i think its the throttle either getting stuck or the pcm is having a brain fart and doesnt know what to do.

it always goes away after that first cold start tho.

as far as the clutch noise....thats just the clutch engaging. all performance cars that ive owned...minus the vette did that. for whatever reason just a loud clutch engagement.

Thanks guys! If all else fails...I have the dealership look at it. I'd hate to have them tear the clutch all apart for nothing. It would still cost me. If they could like re-calibrate the throttle or something that would be great if thats all it was.

Like I said I could put the stage 1 computer back in and see what it does.
