My caliber is wanting to overheat when in stop and go traffic and idling. If the heat is turned on the temp gauge will drop. This happens whether the AC is running or not. Doesn’t happen when driving down the road only when idling. Coolant levels are good and haven’t found any leaks. I have good heat and ac so didn’t think would be my thermostat.

Hi!

The symptoms sound like there could be air inside your cooling system, or the coolant percentage is too low. I have had similar problems on a few rides In the past.
Having air inside the system, or low coolant percentage mixed with water can make your coolant levels seem fine, but everytime your vehicle stops moving and there is no airflow through the grille, car starts to boil.
Best is to bleed the cooling system asap. There are many tutorials online how to do it...

Hopefully you'll get things working smooth In no time:)
