Caliber fans and owners, you are cordially invited to the 2006 SRT Nationals, presented by Kicker Car Stereo, this summer (July 19-22) at Heartland Park, Topeka, Kansas.

Yes it's a long drive for you (unless you already live at the racetrack), but it will be your first opportunity to see the SRT-4 Caliber (not the autoshow mockup) up close with the doors unlocked.

Ralph Gilles will be on hand with the SRT Engineering team, and they are bringing a couple truckloads of their playtoys.

You can participate in the carshow, the roadcourse (with or without instructor), drag racing, and autocross, or you can just hang out with other enthusiasts and the VIP's in the Vendor Midway, or in the ProRacing display paddock.

Other activities include a mobile dyno, informal Audio competition, and a scavenger hunt like no other.

Visit the website and register at http://srtnationals.org

We'll see you in Topeka!

Damn, I wish I lived closer to that!!:(:(
'Closer' is a relative term I suppose... Even throwing out the loonies who are driving in from Alaska and British Columbia, New York isn't that far for the people who really want to be there.

Ralph Gilles, the guy responsible for the design of the Magnum, 300C, and Charger (do you think he might have had a touch of input on the Caliber?) will be a participant at the event. That means that for four days, he doesn't have his DCX hat on (figuratively, he probably will have a hat) and will walking among us commoners as an enthusaist.

The SRT Engineering team, including Erich Heuschele, head of Vehicle Dynamics (suspension), Ethan Bayer, and David Zelkowski to name just a few will be there as enthusiasts to participate in the events with you. Unlike us however, they'll have company cars that don't even technically exist today on the racetracks.

All of those guys, plus the drivers from Woodhouse Performance and Naykid Racing will be providing high performance driving instruction on the roadcourse. Ask nicely and they'll even take you for a ride in the racecars.

And that's just the touchy-feely stuff, the competitions will be as much fun to spectate as they will be to participate in. 10 second SRT-4's (not slicks) will be competing for top honors in the 4 cyl class, and the 10 cyl cars will be deep in the single digits.

If autox is your thing, you know that the surface we'll be racing on is the same surface the SCCA will use for it's Solo2 Nationals just a couple weeks later. Scottie White is creating the National Competition level course for us, and we may even make it a ProSolo format.

This is a "can't miss" event. Get together with a couple friends and roadtrip to Topeka for the event of the year. This isn't your local meet in the Target parking lot, it's the best of the best, with respect to vehicles, activities, and participants.

See you in Topeka,
Dale

:( Have Somethin In California Dammit
Yeah, we get that a lot, but having a meet in California would be as good for the National owners as having one in my stata, Georgia. It would be nice to have the Event just a couple hours away at Roebling Road in Savannah, but it would turn into a local meet.

Besides, you organized a huge meet for SRT-4's this past year in a parking garage, didn't you?

Another reason California probably won't be a location for a while is the trouble finding a road course and a dragstrip on the same property that we can rent for a week for reasonable money. I think the closest option proposed was Vegas, which is do-able, but isn't fair to the rest of the country who was willing to make the trek to Louisianna and now Kansas.

It was moved West to Kansas for the Californians who said that Louisianna was too far, I wanted to host it in Indiana, the center of the country East of the Rockies.

Come to Topeka, if we don't get more West Coast people this year, I can't see catering to the West Coast even more in 2007 or 2008. We want you there, I've driven East Coast to West Coast and back during Cannonball One Lap events a couple times, it's not that bad to go just halfway across the country, especially with a couple friends in the car to share the driving and gas...

See you in Topeka,
Dale

We're planning to continue growing the event, this is the third year, and we hope to have many more. By the way, it's an event, meets happen in the Starbucks parking lot right before the cops show up.

But, with the introduction of all of the new cars this year, and a few small surprises being planned by corporate DCX at the track, this really is a "can't afford to miss it" event.

I've got a handful of salt, and I'm looking for a wound :D

Anyone around here good at designing (and implementing) web pages? We've got a few pages that need updating that we don't have the time (okay we're running out of creative juices) to take care of ourselves.

We can make it worth your while if you'd like to attend the event...
