I had not heard about this before here, but I read it in the latest Counterman magazine today. Nearly all of DCX's 2007 line, save for trucks, is undergoing an ABS flash recall, requiring reprogramming of the ABS module. The Caliber/Compass is labeled as one 07 model under this recall.

Ours has not done anything yet after 20000 miles.

BUT .... my new 07 Sebring has been intermittently popping the ABS & Brake light up for the last three days at least 3 times a day!!!!

If any of you have had your oil changed at the dealership since the recall notice date of 12/22/06 I'll bet it's already been done to your car. This would explain why it's not listed as an outstanding recall repair needed on your VIN when looking on the website. You could call the dealership and ask them if this update flash has already been done to your GPEC or not.

This is another reason to get your oil changed at the dealership and using the new oil change pre-paid plans offered through Chrysler it's not a bad buy either. It even covers a rental car if needed that if you do not have an extended warranty and need service most dealers will use this oil change rental car policy to cover your car during a repair. Don't be scared to ask.
