I'd kinda' like rubber ones instead thinking about scratches and other possible wear underneath or something.

how about this for a DIY: mask off the area and spray rhino / lava lining like used on truck beds? could get creative with all the different colors and textures offered. just a thought.

some of that clear 3M film guard could work too as a non-permanent alternate.

I actually like that a lot. I'm not fussy on the chrome ones either.

The bedliner stuff would be a good idea, but perhaps in a removable form. Possibly molding a thin layer of fiberglass then spraying it with the bedliner. Make it so it can be removed.

This is one mod I'd like to see.

Great idea I used a clear weather tape for now to protect the paint.

Just make sure that whatever you come up with does not interfere with door closure!

question: would that not screw up the paint under the door? .. or i guess that doesnt matter.. nobody looks that low unless looking for rust.

hmm, well it would be sealed and protected from any elements unlike a surface covering which could trap dirt and moisture? it's just a sticker really.

man, I gotta' get some work done today! see y'all later on!
