Something is definitely wrong. Do not you want to go to a service center for consultation? The light should not randomly work and not switch off. Have you checked with anybody regarding it? I am from https://populationstat.com/canada/. And with every single issue I immediately call service center, they are paid for it. Why should I struggle?

I resolved the issue by tightening the Generator eyelet. I attached some photos for better details. This is for the 2008 Dodge Caliber 4 Cylinder 1.8L SXT directly from the factory service manual.

Steps:
1. Being that the battery light is intermittent, be sure the battery light is indeed on. See if the battery is being charged by the Generator. In my case it wasn't. However, even if it was, I probably wouldn't skip to check this connection anyway..

2. Disconnect the positive battery terminal. Be sure of it..

3. Tighten the nut.

If the light goes out and the Generator is charging, you resolved the issue.

Thank you.
