Any workers here that can hook me up with a plant tour or a tour of the lot? :)

Im driving to chicago from long Island (12hr) this weekend to check out the auto show. I need to see the caliber srt4 in person.

I see that the plant it about 1 hour away from chicago. Im going to drive by it but maybe I can get a closer look ;)

Most plants do not allow tours. At least mine doesnt and I build the crappy Stratus/Sebrin Sedans.

The Viper plant is giving tours because it is worth seeing I guess.

You can just pull in the employee parking lot and look through the fence at my plant. I am not sure about belvidere but most likely you can.

Probably because no one cares much about the stratus:p J/K

They do allow employees to give Family members tours during production hours but has to be scheduled weeks in advance, and then only to family members.

We at Belvidere, at full production speed will be spitting Calibers out the door at 1 every 43 seconds.

We aren't yet making any Caliber SRT-4's yet, and don't have an exact production date for them yet. Summer 06 is the closest we've gotten to an actually production date, between the launch of the Compass and the Patriot.

Most of our production bugs are worked out already, and we are the first Plant in Chrysler History to release a vehicle from yard hold so soon. We really did our homework on this car with 18 months in pilot at HQ in Auburn Hills with the Car being built by hand by actually Belvidere Employee's.

This means that we shouldn't have any type of recall on this car ever. Our In-plant quality benchmarks are already on par with the 05-06 Neon (which was the best in all of DiamlerChrysler, and 2nd or 3rd in the world) and our target quality is the Best in the World as measured by JD Power. We are well on our way to making it.

You can drive by and look thru the Chain Link Fence, best if you do it on Hwy US 20 and not I 90. Lot actually faces 20 while the employee parking faces 90. And you will see thousands of them waiting shipment.

And while the Caliber is generating alot of noise right now, later in the year when the new Stratus is launched, I think alot of you guys will be pleasantly surpised, it is a beautiful car. So you guys at Sterling Heights, hold your head high, the only reason I traded mine in is cause I bought the Charger Daytona Go Mango RT. Otherwise I'd still have my 01 Sedan, you guys did a great job making it.

Hearing no recalls for this years makes me feel a lot better. ;) It's great to see you folks have done such a great job crafting this vehicle. I've had so much fun driving it and promoting it for those who want one but can't get one yet. :D

That actually sounds kind of impressive. Can we get a picture of thousands of calibers in a lot please??
