Maybe this was just when i was on last but i did not see a sunroof anywhere in the options!?! Is this just late availability or what is up with this? Does anybody from Dodge Canada know? Also when can we get candadian brochures in? we have the sxt's with the cvt's on the lots but no real brochres for this car yet, whats up with this? Also the "sx 2.0" is still up on the dodge site as a 2005 model while the srt-4 mysteriously disappeared

Probably because they still have an ass-load of SX2.0's that they cannot sell.

And the sunroof should/will be an option, I saw a Caliber R/T AWD at my local dealership yesterday and it HAD a sunroof.

You can also build and price at Car Cost Canada...evidently, the margins are pretty thin regarding retail vs. wholesale price. Not much dickering room there.
I went to the dealership on Thursday after talking about the car and doing a test drive I came back in sat at his desk and said I am a buyer! So we worked up the car that I wanted and it came to $20,335 CAN with the options, transport, ect ect.

I told the salesman that I was willing to sign the contract at $20k even plus taxes.... he mumbled something and said that he was going to "see the boss" and returned with an offer of $135 off:confused: . He later explained tha my car was costing him just over $19,100 cost. Ahh $1250-$335= $865 profit for talking to me for an hour and taking my order. I understand that in order to stay in business they need to make a profit but sheesh! My parents and I have been buying cars and getting service from them off them for 30 years.

Is it just me or have I read that people are getting $1000+ off on the car as well as south of the border(USA) clients getting $500 rebate from Chrysler.

Any other Canadians that bought Calibers get any discounts or am i just beating a dead horse?

That price is BS. Dealers for one wouldn't tell you the actual price they get it for, second, they in no way make that little profit, that much profit, and they wouldn't be able to stay in buisiness.

ever heard the term "stealership"? :D:D

i'm in guelph and i have an sxt sport on order. i'm in a particularly good situation as i work for DCX and get a substantial discount off of any DCX vehicles including mercedes. the discount in fact is $25 above dealer cost.

so what does that mean to everyone else? well i got the sxt, with the sport package (alloys, matching bezels and seat inserts, fog lights) 2.0L/cvt and heated seats. i also got that warrenty that allows me to essentially not pay for any oil changes, rotations, filters or flushes. so total cost for all of my add ons at cost was around $3500. i got the car for just under $22k before taxes and my discount. after my discount and taxes calculated, i only pay $19907.00 so i save quite a bit. around 5k after taxes are in... so i hope that helps...

I just ordered a Sunburst Orange SXT with the sport package. I have yet to see that colour, other than in autoshow pix on the net (fingers crossed that I like it). One other thing that I was questioning...that I finally got an answer to was "do the seats have orange inserts?" On the build and price website (very poor, needs some work), the only options were Marine Blue and Inferno Red. But the dealer finally made a call to DCCI...and the answer was "Yes" Sunburst Orange comes with orange inserts and Solar Yellow has yellow inserts.

Does anyone out there have pix of Orange interior???

So it is pretty much loaded. 2.0L with CVT, sunroof, heated seats, MusicGate, Driver Convenience Group, Security Group, and Speed Control. I decided to lease, and got a 27mth for $287 per month. I did have to put $3000. down to get the payment that low.

I can't wait to get it. :D

In another thread here there is a link to an orange caliber with the orange inserts, http://www.caliberforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231 the link is to a dealer's listing on e-bay that has several photos of exterior and interior.

It looks pretty sharp!
Thanx...
I tried that link a couple days ago, but I couldn't access the pix. It may have to do with the fact I only have Dial-Up (the joys of living in the country).
I was hoping someone would post a couple shots here...without links.
I think it will be one of the first things I do once I get mine.

That makes no sense..dealers aren't in buisness to make a grand on a car...

My dealer actually showed me a printout with his price and my price (just over $1000 profit). Since I get the employee family price I didn't try to negotiate, but he did add on the security group for free. So if you want any accessories I would say that is the only way to get a better deal.
I think the car is worth the sticker price. I walked over to the GM dealer last night, that is right next to the Chrysler dealer and a Vibe with the closest options as I ordered (not as nice as the Caliber though) was over $2000 more.

The problem with the e-bay link is that the pics aren't individuals, they're combined into a flash slideshow with sound :( So if you don't have the right version of flash on your computer its not going to play, and you also mentioned you're on dialup so it's probably a pretty big download unfortunately.

I don't know if theres a way to break a flash file apart, but if I remember it I'll try to take some screenshots of the presentation and put them up for you after I get home tonight. Its something that I was going to do anyway since I'm still trying to decide what color I'm going to order, and I'm saving all the different pics I can find to compare.
