Caliber Life Expectancy.

It seems Calibers are flying off of showroom floors. Recently found out that Nation wide, Calibers have a life expectancy at a dealer of 36 hours or less with many being sold within 24 hours of coming off the truck.

If you want one, check your dealer everyday. We're working hard to get those out to you so hopefully you'll have more choices at the dealer soon.

So you are pretty much saying that in the same time the 1994/1995 Neon was out, Caliber will far surpass those numbers?

I see that at one dealership there was a Caliber for less then 24 hours that sold!!:eek: That is AWESOME!!!!:D:D:D:)
OHHHH, you mean, the "life expectancy" waiting on a sales lot!! LOL
I thought this topic was gonna be about, how many years (and years and years!) before they start to wear out!

yep, the 24-36 hrs seems to be the case at the dealer near me.
Yeah, the term for this is "inventory turnover rate" or "days to sell"

New cars tend to fly off lots much faster.... a more telling statistic will be whether or not the car remains hot 12 months from now.

Earlier this month, JD Power released a summary of the days to sell for various cars. The Dodge Magnum now requires 192 days to sell on average... and that's pretty bad. The Crossfire clocked in at an industry-worst 300 days in inventory on average. Ouch.
my wife's had just been detailed and put on the showroom curb when i saw it while working, we bought it a few hours later
May I ask how much you got off the sticker price?
around $1300 off sticker, plus a bit more added to our trade in
most of the ones that have been rolling into the dealership by me in NC are ones that have been ordered. I think they got 1 into the dealership in the last month that wasn't ordered ahead of time by a buyer....dealer told me that one was sold before the place closed the day it was delivered. This car is a GREAT CAR...people have been lining up for them even BEFORE they started their national add campaign. The internet is the reason this car is so hot.
+2. I think that the internet really helped in the Caliber's case.

you got that right. i was researching my next car and i didn't even consider the caliber as i had not even been aware that it existed. it was a toss up between this and the honda fit. i chose the caliber as it just had way more stuff at the same price. yes you're paying for an already tested and true car with the fit, yes you're getting honda quality(and i'm well aware i'm in a forum dedicated to domestics don't flame me) and yes, the fit gets oodles of more efficiency in the gas sipping depart ment. all run on sentences aside, i chose the caliber as i wanted something with a presence on the road, value that is second to none and that fridge thing in the glove compartment.

yeah, i'm not going to mince words about it, it's the fridge that sold me.:p
the fridge is cool.
Talk to anyone from Taiwan, Thailand, China, Etc (I know lots of people out there) .... and they generally have very bad things to say about the Fit / City / Jazz out there. It seems it's just a really obvious ghetto car that happens to have a [H] emblem on the hood. And no, I'm not referring to that one guy that came on here and spammed those crazy accident photos.
I bought my Caliber BEFORE it was even at the dealer (didn't order... just looked at what the dealer had allotted to them and found one that had everything I wanted... color and everything:cool: ).

I wonder that all the negative car-rag reports will have an effect. Those car-rags editor-jerks are upsetting. They talk up that pile-of-junk Honda Fit like it were a mini-Cadillac! It's rather dumpy looking and tinny. The Caliber is twice the car all the one's in that C&D comparison report. All the things they say about the Caliber are frivolous and then they say the same things about a couple of the other cars but act like it doesn't matter! Glad I quit my subscription too ALL the car-rags several years ago!!! They're not about finding facts so much as they are about getting paid-off!

I was just about to lay down the dough on a Mazda3s. That's a great car... but I didn't really want it... it just happened to be the best car in the class. But if I didn't find another car just as good or better I would've bought. Then I saw a Caliber driving off the Dodge lot one day...

I bought my Caliber a full two months before there was any form of advertising or magazine articles. Hell, I bought it a month and a half before the vehicle actually went on sale. I would feel that in and of itself allows me to better judge the car than any car magazine out there. And, just as the boys at DaOrg (tm) have done, several people have called me...well, not nice things. :(

I'm more qualified to rate this car, and I can't have a decent opinion because I don't hold a journalism degree, the car mags "know" and they're "all nice guys who love cars."

Bullshit...
Those car mag "editors" are the same assholes who called the Toyota Echo a terrible car. What a load of crap, the Echo is the best car that toyota ever made. Maybe not the fastest, but can you compare 167,000 miles and only having the transmission needing to be replaced a bad car? The thing still gets 43 MPG even. And with the mods I did to it, it easily was able to pull .9-1.0 lateral g.

Grrrrr I hate car-rags.
