These pictures are in no way attractive to me, however its an SUV, and most of us here will be coming from an SRT4 Neon, and would not be attracted to this, but its all an opinion..

These non-spy pics don't actually look to bad, but once again an opinion:

The non-srt model really isn't all that appealing.
the non-srt model really is very unappealing :)
Look at this pic. Looks to me like maybe a 0-60 acceleration test. Kinda has that Leap frog look of awd cars (evo, wrx) when they leave the line hard. Check out the wheel gap on the front tires tho. Looks like you could stick a small woodland creature up in there. You might be able to throw some 20's on there with factory suspension. Manufactuers are doing stuff like that nowadays, keeping up with the automotive trends. The new Denali's can fit something like 24in rims on factory suspension without have to touch a damn thing.

yeah man i was thinking that the person was deffinately accelerating, however he could be coming around a corner and just jumping on it....either way it deffinately doesn't look good in that pic to me....i wanna see a rallye in action :)

Agreed!! I want to see something that was meant to attack the road.
Personally i dont understand dodge's logic (if there was any involved) to replace the neon with this. I just cant see how this thing is even going to come close to the preformance and handling of the srt-4 as we know it. I know the pictures shown here arent the srt version, but even at that, that thing looks like it is goin to have a much higher center of gravity than the neon, and handle more like a boat then a sport compact. And whats the deal with the pontiac vibe look?? This think might not look so bad if it was made into a sedan, and dropped maybe 2 or so inches. But i honestly think that they (dodge) messed this thing up.

Sorry for the rant....just a case of the mondays i guess.:)
if you guys remember, the srt-4 neon comes jacked up like a suv from the factory also. you guys are missing the point here, nobody was in the market for a damn neon when you bought the srt, i sure as hell wont be in the market for a caliber but will sure as shit get the srt version.

,

thats a damn fine point son, I'm sure a lot of the business the next SRT-4 will do will be from 1st time buyers that didn't get a crack at the Neon SRT-4, but on the other hand, Dodge sure didn't do much to keep current Neon SRT-4 owners loyal, I mean, I can see past the Neon to my SRT-4, because it wasn't butt-ugly to begin with, but I don't know about this next one???

granted that the neon based srt comes jacked up like and suv:)....but then again its not an suv, its a 4 door sedan. i dont know maybe is just me, but i dont think the caliber looks like a sedan:rolleyes:. Personally i love the look of the neon based srt, it looks badass. To each his own i guess.
you guys seem to be misunderstanding the word 'replace' .. i think they simply replaced the neon in the sense that the neon factory is now the caliber factory... and the other 3 cars that will be produced there [caliber, compass, patriot and ???-- dunno wut it is yet]

Its replacing the Neon's space, not the Neon. Its not the new neon, its the new 4 door sedan/family car/ racer dodge made. I'm still not a fan of it, it just does not look like a car you could race down the track. SRT or not.

Yes, it is replacing the neon all together, but i doubt that dodge would leave that part of the market open to other manufacturers. Think about it, the previous srt wasnt mass produced, however, in the it has left its mark in the preformance SC world. In keeping with that, dodge is going to have to come out with something to keep the part of the market that the previous srt4 had. And i cant agree with u more on the fact that is does not look like something to take down a track.....dodge should keep it as a grocery getter and not bother with and srt version.:D

watch, when the srt version of the caliber comes out we will all be like "holy shit". think about it, has d/c let us down with ANY srt, arguably the srt-6 but then again, it would have sold better if it had the 3 pointed star on the hood, not under it. amg, would have sold for a shitload more also.
