I had my wife go to the dealer today to ask some questions on when they will be getting some on the lot. She had more info on the car just from what I told about just from reading it here then the salesman had. He said come back in a few weeks and he would know more. When she asked about an SRT 4 his reply was "good luck" How can they have such little info on this car? The comment about "good luck" on getting an SRT 4 kinda sux. Anyone here know when they will be on the lots here in Canada? And is it really goning to be that hard for me to get an SRT4 ??? My choice will be either an SRT4 or an R/T witha manual trans. How long till I see either of these?

I'm in Edmonton and talked to a dealer yesterday, he said there are some on the train already headed to Canada and will take 2-3 weeks before they're delivered. At my dealership here, they've allowed me to put down a refundable deposit which entitles me to first choice of cars when they come in. The salesman had an inventory list which he showed me and it did include R/Ts. I was more interested in the SXT.. loaded the price was about 22K CAN $ if I recall correctly. Hope this helps.

My dealers didn't know anything here either. I knew more than they did and this was about a week ago I stopped by two separate ones. I don't know what their deal is, but I don't like how they cannot know anything about them.

In my experiences, most dealer do not know what they are selling or about to sell. Most consumers know a lot more. Your best bet is to wait til you see it. Don't trust a dealer to know what they are selling until they have had it on the lot for 6 months. Even then, most know nothing about the vehicles.

Official information on Caliber SRT-4 has not been released by DaimlerChrysler. The only piece of information we have received regarding the Caliber SRT-4 was a copy of the press release, until then we have to wait for the information to arrive and then the OK to provide it further.

The lack of information is to prevent information leaks, if you haven’t noticed the automotive industry is very competitive. In order to combat this, they keep each and every piece of information on a need to know basis. Various people through DaimlerChrysler sign NDA (Non Disclosure Agreements) on a regular basis.

When the information is ready, a press release will be sent out and the dealerships should receive there training and information shortly after.

The information will be available, although I cannot provide you a timeframe as to when.

I just got back from a local Cleveland dealer, and he offered me a job, because his salesman knew NOTHING about Caliber, and heard me telling the salesman about the car...I think we need to train these biotches if they want to outsell their competition

Thnx for all the relpy's, the part that bothers me the most was when he was asked about getting an SRT4 was he said good luck, I can understand this IF it was not going to be built but to say that I would not likely be able to get one here??? WTF is with that? Knowing more about what I am shopping for then a salesman is nothing new to me but to outright say "good luck" just plain ol pisses me off. It almost seems like it would be work for him to order one or something.

Always shop around and never leave until you have all your questions answered. If you find a dealer that's willing to work with you, inquire about ordering specific vehicles. Some dealers will, and some won't, but usually they'll allow you to custom order a vehicle and have it delivered to that dealer. If you don't want to go that route, never be afriad to walk out. The SRT-4 is going to be a popular vehicle, and dealers are going to be ordering at least one with every order they submit. That statement holds true for the United States, but it is unclear if Canada will be the same way.

The bottom line is, one dealer in your area will get a Caliber SRT-4. Get in touch with all dealers in your area and ask them to e-mail you when they start receiving shipments. I contacted eight dealers in my area at the end of January about the Caliber, and I have not heard back from all but one. Guess which dealer got my business. ;)
