First i love all the features and the front seat easy to get comfy in. the interior seems pretty nice for an econobx. handling was solid, if not overwhelming. The engine was extremely smooth for a 4 popper.

Dislikes were quite heavy though, unfortunatly. Ride seemed a bit rough and there was a lot of tire howl. WHile not a negative, the CVT seemed wierd. The back seat was smaller than i honestly expected, but I understand this was just an SX-T and even the R/T would seem considerably better. Oh, the biggest disapointment, that engin had to about be the weakest engine I have ever behind the wheel of. i am sure it would have picked up some with break-in, but as it was, underwhelming is an understatement. my dad's 3/.1 Lumina is quicker (uyeah, it's a 6, but only has 10 more HP and tugs around an extra 400 or so pounds). I really think i am going to fall in love with the SRT-4 hough. just a little review, overall i think Mopar is going to have a hit on it's hands, remember i am pretty jaded in the HP dept ;)

when i drove this car.. i felt different... i was unique... which was what i like about it... i dun liek white goods which are just to make money... but i like a car with a spirite.... and this car is the thing i have... CVT is weired.... but its good.... it make the car felt smooth.... well.. they had finally did something that is good... and unique.... and compared to the neon... this car has left the image of being just a rental car... i deserves a better position then that... if mopar continues of what it is doing... i can tell u...without a doubt that their sales world wide would beat GM or Ford... with the three brands alone... Chrysler Dodge Jeep!

Hell yeah, I really think that DCX made a keeper in the Caliber

I agree that the CVT feels a little wierd, but the only real noise I noticed was when I came to a complete stop and the torque converter disengaged. As far as weak engines, you obviously have not driven Scion xB, that's the weakest engine out there. On my test drive with the SXT, it did feel like acceleration was a little weak, but I think the CVT creates that feeling by not shifting. I glanced down as I was merging onto I-90 and noticed I was doing 78mph. It felt like 45-50 mph. I think it's just something that will take a little while to get used to.

Exactly what I have expierenced with the CVT. Seems like you are going slower than you really are, but in reality you are going faster.

Well, not, i was always aware of the speed I was going, but the acceleration for "me" wasn;'t there. i am a bit power junkie though, so that is a HUGE point for me, like I said though, iu drive a car with a supercharger that hit 13s the last time at the track, so i a bit guilded. I do think the Caliber will be a good thing for DCX, hopefully America has a true small car competitor on it's hands. now i am ready to get my hands on an R/T and finally an SRT, hopefully with my name on the title ;) ;).

I drove an SXT CVT today. The car drove great. However, it felt slow, but when I looked at the speedo (and almost crashed into the car in front of me) I saw that we were speeding right along...the car got to 50 in a 25 without much effort, it just doesn't have the feel of speed, and I really missed the trans auto shifting...I do need to drive the stick to see if it has more "fun" factor...all in all a great car, and it doesn't handle like it's tall
