This sales ad was in today's Detroit Free Press.

 What I want to know is, what is an "SXT Extreme" and why is the pic an SRT4 model (which as we all know isn't available this year)??!!
(Not to mention, they spelled Caliber wrong.)
I called the dealer to ask what an SXT Extreme is. They took a message and someone will call me back. ok....

They do that here in Canada if you read the fine print there will be a disclaimer. And the extreme pkg. is probably something the dealer is doing on it's own
OH YEAH, I want that srt4 model for 12,991!!! I drive up ther and get it myself:p

hells yes! i'm up for that. i'll make the two hour drive to the border! i wonder what duty would be like on a purchase like that?
Nope, there was no disclaimer explaining what an "extreme" is. The * after the price is the usual disclaimer about all rebates applied, must qualify for employee pricing, etc.

The ad also includes entries for a Stratus SXT Extreme and a Durango SXT Extreme. So I'm just really curious what this dealer is doing, especially at that price! Hope someone returns my call next week.
What bullshit, that dealer is up to something....hmmm..:D

I would also have to agree, there is no "Extreme Package" available from the factory. I would check the window sticker since it may either be altered by the dealership or strictly a traffic boosting incentive.

Unfortunately they are free to post ads like this as they see fit, they are all independently owned and operated. I will agree on something, its pretty sad they didn’t spell Caliber correctly.

Dan
Is there a disclaimer saying that the vehicle pictured is not the one for sale? I doubt very seriously there's a SRT-4 out there. ;)
Someone will be dissapointed when they can't YET get a Caliber that looks like that:eek:

Nope.
I'm sure the ad agency just found a nice pic to use without thinking twice about it.

Probably. Pity the salesperson who will be having that conversation with an insistent customer.
But -- that's marketing for ya! (hey, I thought the ol' "bait and switch" tactic was illegal!!)

My work entails publishing marketing-type information about products, and I understand what the fallout could be (sometimes serious legal consequences) if "unreleased" future features are mentioned or even pictured. If we let something slip, it would get pulled soooo fast. So, I'm probably more over-aware than many people when I notice things like that out in the public eye.
I would think the misspelling of the vehicle's moniker would be enough for me. o_O
