They were there for quite a while, since 1900. They closed plants because they weren't profitable, and their headquarters moved to Detroit. There are still several factories there. That with other things lead to Flint's demise.

I'll be getting married next year in the church that the man who started GM used to attend, Billy Crapo Durant.

uhmmm im about 30 minutes north of detroit......and it takes me about 45minutes-1hour to get to flint, and flint is north of me

If you come across the bridge from sarnia or whatever it's called it's about an hour down i-69.

If not, It will probably be a lot longer than that.
Either way, the fact that there is no more detroit dragway is bull.
So called auto capitol and we don't have a track.
