There have been posts stating that the Caliber will soon be available with heated mirrors. DCX/Dodge reps and my dealer say that they know nothing about that possibility. I'm putting my purchase on hold while I wait for a confirmation from them.
Heated mirrors option available soon?

I wouldn't put it past them, but I'm not sure if we'll be seeing an option like that until the winter. Down south, we don't need to worry about heated mirrors because it's never cold enough to need them. Up north it would come in handy.
Hell, none of my cars have ever had heated mirrors. I scraped the ice and frost off of them and went to work or school.

In Ontario where I have an inch of frost on the car every winter morning I don"t get heated mirrors, but in the Canary Islands you do. WTF!!!

My 2000 Dodge Neon ES has heated mirrors. They work with the rear defroster. Its neat to watch as you see a small square get larger and larger. Then your mirrors are clear. I think all cars shold have this. Its not like it cost that much.
Yes but they didn't think it's important because they cut it out for 2003 Neon along with Traction Control. . Our Caravan does and it's great in the winter (though they removed the heating thing from the windshield wiper area which was a great feature too).Therefore it's unlikely you might see heated mirrors for the Caliber.

Yeah, starting in the 2002 model year, they started taking these "cool little touches" away from the Neons. Its not like they saved any money, so I don't understand why they did it. It was the downfall of the Neon, making it "cheap" didn't help it any. Because apparently we don't "need" them or we're not good enough for them. Just like those lighted switches for the window. I think part of the reason is that it's way more competitive over there? Considering they are kind of the underdog they offer all the bells and whistles to compete with other models.DodgeGirlKathy said:

The Neon example applies here again too, the European (Export) Neon had so many more things than the Domestic model including:

My 2000 ES had the cup holder light, glove box light, and the 4wheel disc with antilock. Though these were options, they were taken away starting in the 2002 model year. My 2000 ES has every option on a Neon in 2000 except the engine block heater and the smokers package.tkyoshi said:
