What im in the process of doing to one of my other cars is coating the entire interior and undercarrage in lizard skin... pretty much like rhino liner but thinner. I may have to look into doing just the underside of the caliber. It is actually a sound deadener as well as a protective coating. Might kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Lizard skin isnt very durable though as an undercoating but if its not beaten on too bad it should hold up. Im able to use it on my lincoln due to the fact that i cant even drive it in the rain. Just a toy car only really. Maybe an actual bedliner will sound insulate just enough.

that would be what rhino-lining is -- it comes in more than black now btw; they could probably color-match ur car. (not perfect but close) -- only thing i would worry about is the exhaust heat & fumes, if you were to rhino-line that too.
