I have a Dodge Caliber 2010, and lately have been having a very repeatable but strange issue:

It will start and then die after about 2 seconds. It will do this even if I apply a little pressure to the gas pedal. It will do this 2-4 times, and then when I turn the key there is no engine activity. If I keep cycling the ignition on and off it will eventually start, and runs normally until I shut it off again.

It started out just taking 3-5 times of the no engine activity cycling before it would start for real. After a week of doing this it is up to over 20 times before I get a real start.

The relays under the driver headlight have been replaced, and the fuel pump has been replaced as well.

What's left? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this annoying issue!

Thanks,
Patrick

Sounds like your anti theft immobiliser system kicking in, possible battery in your key fob not working correctly or needing replaced, to send the chip signal in the key to the immobiliser.
