I'm another person trying to gauge when I'm gonna see my order. I live about 45 minutes away from the Belvidere plant, but my order status (just checked today) is only at "BX."

Would any of you think I'm gonna see my car in 4 or less weeks?

I'm assuming you just ordered, so maybe you will get yours a bit quicker than me. Mine gets shipped on 6/15 and I ordered 4/13. So that will be 9 weeks to the day since I placed the order. But everyone's experience is different so I'm hoping you get yours more quickly than I will. Good luck! :)

How do you know when yours is being shipped?

When I call and give them my VIN number (which I got on 5/3), they are able to see that I have an estimated ship date. It's apparently on a different screen than the Build Status because it takes them a minute to look it up.

You must have your VON# (order #) supplied by the dealer before you call DC for status. (8 digits)

Call 1-800-992-1997 (1-800-465-2001 from Canada)
Listen to the automated operator then press 2. (To continue.)
Hold for the next available agent. DO NOT ENTER A FOUR DIGIT EXTENSION! WAIT ON THE LINE AND MAKE NO SELECTIONS. The line will sound dead and you'll think you screwed up. You DIDN'T! WAIT!
When Prompted press 1. (you are a customer.)
When Prompted press 3. (customer service issues.)
Press 3 Again. (customer service issues.)
Press 3 yet again. Later, once your order gets rolling they'll give you a VIN#, when you have it you will press 1 here. (3 = Home telephone number, 1 = VIN)
Enter your 10 digit home telephone number. (No 1 before the area code.)
Press 1 (If telephone number read back to you correctly.)
Wait on the line for a customer service representative.
When they pick up tell them you want to check on the status of a Dodge Caliber order.

ONCE YOUR ORDER IS SHIPPED

More than likely your Order will be shipped by rail to a nearby rail depot in your state. Once your order is shipped or preparing to be shipped the customer service folks at DC should be able to tell you what railroad your order will be shipped on. If it's already been shipped they may even be able to tell you what rail car number it's on. You can then either call the railroad or go to the rail roads website, plug your VIN number (or last eight) or rail car number into their tracking system, and it will tell you exactly where your Caliber is! It's theoretically possible to track your Caliber all the way to the rail depot in your state! Here's just a couple railroads to get you started.

Union Pacific Railroad - http://c01.my.uprr.com/pet/motorVehicleTrace.jsp
Santa Fe Burlington Northern - http://www.bnsf.com/cws/tracing/index.html

If the railroad your Caliber is being shipped on is something other than the above. Just do a search and you should be able to find a website for that railroad and at least a phone number to call.

Well crap. I doubt then, that I am gonna see my car before the 8 week period comes and goes. I'm toying with the idea of canceling now....I simply don't want to wait. I have two cars to get rid of, and I just want to be done!!!!

I dunno if they are gonna give me my 1K deposit back, either.:(

You will get your money back, they can't keep your deposit, maybe a very very small portion, but they would be stupid to try to keep even that. You are under no obligation to purchase the car, it could come in and you can change your mind before signing. Only way they could bitch is if you ordered a weird combination that would be hard to sell, and with demand, I don't think that is really a problem. But still, NO WAY can they keep your money.

If the car was in D status, they may keep your deposit as they can't cancel the car once its in D status. Do you even have an allocation spkeehan?

If you don't have an allocation, then it won't go into "D" status until the dealer you bought it from gets one. That is what most people who order one wait on. I ordered mine on May 1st and just got an allocation this month and my car immediately went from BX to D status. Hopefully it goes into D1 (on the assembly line) status next week if everything goes like its supposed to.

If you're gonna order a Caliber you need to be EXTREMELY patient, or else find one on the lot that you like, even if you have to give up a couple of options.

BA is the status when Bull and Ass meet to form BullSh*T :D

According to the codes, there is no BA, but I guess that could be the code for something that is not even in the system yet.
