Is anyone getting a reduction in sticker price on these? Either from in stock cars or by ordering one? I am going to ask for discount, but was wondering what others have experienced. They said Dodge is currently offering $500 rebate. I would like to get at least $1000 off stick and think I can get it.

Thoughts?

If you want any kind of incentive, get the car before everyone else. Dodge won't offer incentives for long. You're going to get at least $500 off. I got about $2,000, mainly because the dealer I went to actually (surprisingly) wanted to work with me. :)

Good info. This helps a lot. The car is actually for my wife and she is not comfortable dealing with pricing. Our dodge dealer is very nice to work with and not one of those slimy dealerships. It's good to have an idea of what we might be able to get. Thanks

When I ordered my SXT, I was given a $500.00 rebate. In addition, my wife's best friend works for Chrysler and we got the Friends/ Family Discount, 1% below invoice. if you know anyone who works for Chrysler, Dodge or Mopar, ask them for a Control Number to give the dealer. I don't know where you live, but here in NY, the dealer has to show you both invoice and MSRP when you present the Control number. There is no dickering(unless you have a trade in) and you know you're getting a fair price. I do agree with SilverFox, the incentives won't last long, the orders are piling up for this car. Anyone remember the PT Cruiser release, they actually sold above sticker price for a couple of months due to demand. That may happen with the Caliber this summer. Other than car enthuiasts and web surfers, nobody knows that this car exists. Wait until the TV commercials start running. I am hoping mine has been delivered well before then.

I'm in NC. I think we will just order one if we find this is the car for us (did it with the PT in 2001). I also have two sources of family/firends who work at dealerships. Plus I get a Duke discount if those don't work out. I havn't talked pricing yet, just trying to figure out options. Thanks for the info.

I stopped by a dealer here in Cincinnati to see if they had any calibers, and noticed they are actually marking them up here.

The dealer had 3, but had sold one because it happened to have heated seats and that was what the customer was looking for. They had a black SE and a Red SXT (the one they sold was white, not sure what model). Both had papers taped to the window next to the sticker with "Market Adjustment" written in marker and a new adjusted price that was 2997 more than the sticker price.

It put the SE at just under $20k and the sxt at just under $21k. I don't remember the options that either had on them. Hopefully the other dealers in the area aren't adding a "Market Adjustment" package or it ends soon.

That goes along with the bacis principles of supply and demand. It sucks that some are doing it, and you think that they would sell at a volume rather than price. Maybe it is too early, but price will most likely come down within 1 month when DCX can catch up.

Market Adjustments is just another fancy word for dealer markup, when there is a strong demand for a vehicle certain dealerships mark them up so they can get the "best price" for that vehicle. When the 300C SRT-8's were released some people were happily paying $15,000 over sticker in various parts of the country.

While this is not an activity we condone, dealerships are independently operated and free to set there own prices as they see fit. In this case, our suggestion is to shop elsewhere and find a dealership that will sell it to you at or below MSRP. (like Steve's dealership)

There are dealerships out willing to work with you, its just the matter of finding the one you want to deal with.

I just got a call from Hendrick Dodge in Raleigh NC and they are getting 20 in soon. I may wait to see what they are getting. Looks like they are making their way to the dealers.

Yeah, The SRT-8's fetched a pretty penny when they first arrived. The crazy part was that people would gladly pay above sticker just get there hands on one.

That’s good news, the Caliber is slowly but surely making its way to each of the approx 4000 dealerships nationwide. With 20 on order, I am sure the dealership will be more then willing to work out a deal with you.

Let us know how it turns out.

I like that 0% financing!!
Everyone always does, don’t forget to ask if Chrysler Financial is offering any lease cash on top of that 0%. It may be possible to get $500-1000 from Chrysler Financial, $500 from Dodge and maybe a bit more from the dealership.

So far we are seeing a very strong demand for the Caliber. In some areas are having troubles keeping them in stock. I expect this community to get much larger, very quickly.

Cheers,
Dan

The only Dodge models that qualify for 0%/60mo. are the 2006 Caravan, Dakato, Durango and Ram 1500. Look at the fine print on the website (bottom of page after you click on the 0% financing ad). This may be regional, I'm on the East Coast and I know sometimes, the offers are region specific.
