i like the idea as well
just to throw another idea out there, some of the catagories could include the different model levels, such as se, se plus, sxt, rt, srt and have contests one month between the different trim levels

sig awards is one of the ideas we had for the winner. we are also working on making it so the winner would have a thread featured on the front page of the forum with an article about their car and some pictures. we also thought it would be cool if some of the members that are good with photoshop would donate some time to make the winning pic special for the winner.
theres also a few other ideas that i cant mention right now that im sure would make this a very popular event. but we cant pursue those until we get some response from admin first.
stay tuned, we are taking all your suggestions into account and trying to do a few ideas of our own to make this a really cool feature to this forum. and make it so you guys get to do more than just vote for a winning car.
we will consider the trim level idea. personally im not for it, just because id like it to be that the winner is chosen because they did good work to their car, followed the rules of that months contest and was creative in doing so.
plus some trim levels have very few members so imo it wouldnt be very fun for them. i think that the forum is divided with the srt people and then the non srt people. this would be a great thing to get everyone together regardless of trim level and level the playing field. a base model cali would be just as likely to win as a loaded srt. ive seen quite a few non srt calibers who have done some very creative and well executed mods to their car and it would be nice for them to get the recognition they deserve. throw in a theme for the pics and now people have to actually work a little to win instead of walking outside and just taking a pic.

i agree, if we do one award for each trim level, we'll run out of non-srt owners pretty fast :lol:
maybe a non-srt and a srt category, or alternate every other month

we will know more about what will happen with this after the chat session. admin is aware and so far seem interested in the idea. we have not gotten a yes or no yet, but they did say they would discuss it over with us after the chat session and sounded to like the idea.
i wouldnt have a problem with deviding it with srt and non srt, but to me it doesnt feel right. the forum alread has srt sections and non srt sections and i just thought it would be really cool to have this be something the entire forum can be a part of together rather than splitting it up.
Osirus, we will mention your interest in modding this. wether or not admin wants another mod is up to them. if they dont want another mod, ill mention maybe at the very least making you the unofficial announcer for the monthly contests and if we decide to do the narrowing it down by the mods choosing a few finalists and then members voting on those maybe we can somehow involve you in that.

as long as it would be fair for everyone, then yea i dont care if its split on trim levels or not
the other forum i was on with my other car, was weighted HEAVILY on wether or not you had an svt or not.. no svt, slim chances of winning rotm, until they sectioned it off based on different trim levels

imho as far as trim, it shouldnt be biased towards a srt 1 month and an sxt the next, it should be the most tasteful, elegant pic that someone can shoot, rather their all srt or there all sxt's. It will more than likely have 5 or so catagories on how the winner will be picked, but performance or trim will not put you ahead of someone who cant afford the nicest things.

thats the idea. so far we plan on having the judging be on how well the mods on the car were executed, how well the participant followed the guidelines for that month, how creative they were in capturing that months theme. i havent been on all day, so i dont know what if any developments have happened with this. but as soon as we know if this is a go, we will get it all sorted. we have most of the basic details worked out, we need to discuss them all and agree on everything. then we have to work out all the other little details that go along with this. once its all set, we will announce the first contest and how to go about everything (probably make a sticky so new members can see how to participate.) and the fun will start. everything we are considering for this is what was mentioned in this thread as well as our own ideas, so dont think we took your idea and ran our own direction. it will be a mix of everything that was thought to work best. :bigthumb: (thats if we get the complete go ahead.)
