I test drove a red SXT yesterday at the Belvidere Dodge dealer. I liked it. They had about 6 or 7 Calibers there. They had 1 or 2 R/Ts, an SXT Sport, regular SXTs and some base Calibers. I live about 10 miles west of Belivdere and the dealer here in Rockford had about 7 on the back lot today (Sunday).
Some had the window sticker still laying on the seat. The plastic seat covers are still on the seats. One came from a dealer in Rhode Island, one from New Jersey, and one from Austin Texas. I also drove a PT Cruiser(Touring Edition), and a Mazda3 yesterday. The PT was sluggish. I liked the Mazda3 also but the one I built online would run me $25,000. I can not decide.

Why does it seem nobody is buying or driving the r/t? Mazda 3's are pretty nice but it really depends on what you like better not somebody else.

Drive a different trim and a couple other cars and make a pro and con list.

Yeah, that might be why, with the R/T's AWD and CVT...ugh...a belt driven car..

I drove an FWD SXT about a week ago at a dealership in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. I had very mixed feelings. That rear window seems awfully small. Acceleration from a stop is very blah. The interior seems nice. Handling is adequate. When I was on the highway at 60 MPH and stomped the throttle, it jumped to 70 MPH nice and quick-like. Brakes are adequate. The C-Pillar is freaking huge. Seat heaters were nice -- not too hot on the first setting, but plenty warm on the "hot" setting. Seats were firm, but comfortable. The sliding armrest thingy was nice, and comfortable. Seat adjustment controls are kind of dumb.

What I can say with certainty is that I'm not interested in the 2.0L engine. I want something with a little more zip, but the dealership I was at didn't have anything else besides the two white SXTs. Once an R/T hits a dealership, I'll give it another drive.

I personally like the Mazda 3 better as far as styling. But buying a car is definitely a personal decision...watever makes u sleep better at night since ur the one that will be driving it. Decide wat aspects are the most important to u...stlying, performance, luxury/comfort, cost etc.
