timing and knock

i have my boost turned down to 16psi, because of the colder weather my a/f is much leaner.
heres what i want to know, my timing is still setup for my 21psi. can not having enough timing on 16psi cause knock?

my knock (1.1 at wot) seems kinda high for my boost level and an a/f of 11.2-11.6

any thoughts.

Making a few street pulls and driving around for a bit is not an actual tune, although Ill admit that usually thats all it takes. With the issues you say you have, I would need the car overnight to play with different temps and to pick up on any of the random hiccups there might be as I agree its not going to be the tune.

Your car is no different than anyone elses. There is just something thats not operating totally correct. That may be vacuum leaks, FIC hardware, FIC harness, random voltage drops etc.

If the car runs as bad as you claim, most people wouldnt have waiting a week let alone months. Drop the car off and lets figure out your issues so you can enjoy your ride.

i cant really leave the car over night, i have nowhere i can stay. that and my car fund is running low lol, i have enough left to have you do the dyno tune. im putting my clutch in next weekend so i will be coming to see you in a few weeks. maybe we can figure something then.

i dont know if you remember when we did some street tuning last time, when my car bucked real hard when we first went out. you asked if it was from me with the clutch, it was the car doing its thing. its completely random.

i also get a mysterious cel if i just put my key to the on position for a few seconds before i start it. if i just start it normal i have no issues.

i will be calling ron some time next weekend to make an appointment.
check the FIC harness - the TPS wire on mine started to back out of the connector, caused all sorts of havoc

Aaron tipped me off to check the harness and sure as ****, that was where the problem was

i have checked the harness many different time thinking maybe i will find something, but i never do.
good advice though:bigthumb:
I'll check the harness when I have the chance..
Does the resistor on the TPS wire go out easily? I heard it does

I wouldnt say easy, but yes its possible.

Most likely it will toss a hard code though

He has been having hicuups with a few things but they are being ironed out. Big changes in the works so nothing to worry about
good stuff - I'm scared to see what you two have up your sleeve:icon_eek:

Ya its no problem man, your welcome to stay. The only way for me to really figure this out is to have it for different conditions so I can test a few things. Im actually very interested in getting to the bottom of your issue.
yeah I am having a lot of the same issues to but they are recent. I have been told about checking the TPS resistor but have had no time to really look and I hooked it up so long ago I cant remember which wire it is (tcs installed inside dash). If you get your issues ironed out, please shed some like for the rest, it take a lot of fun away from driving the car
hopefully i will be able to come out in a couple weeks.
11.2 at 16 psi thats a little rich, is that at 3-4k rpms and then richens to 10's at redline.
