Significant for this month in the top twenty vehicle is that Hyundai is now one of the main players.

Wow! :D

Naw, the first set were numbers for April only. The second set were numbers for all of 2006. So a total of 19,174 calibers have been sold (although I have yet to see one on the roads yet)...

Hey, these numbers come from DCX - I don't compile them :)

The Caliber passed the PT in sales for April (11,236 -vs- 10,878)!

The Caliber's numbers are pretty impressive seeing as how it only actually started selling in March (or was it late February that a couple of dealers had them).

I think Dodge made a wise decision in bringing out the Caliber!

Yeah, the Caliber looks to be selling well - and since there haven't been any serious PR nightmares The Caliber won't do well if it gets a recall - unlike the Japanese cars that get by without nary a mention in the press ('06 Camry recall - '06 Civic recall, or the Avalon's problems across the board, mazda5s catching on fire, etc).

Now, the problem is figuring out why the Durango isn't selling worth a damn...

You are correct with the recalls on the other brands and cars, the press don't say a word:mad:

Durango's are not selling, hmm, IMO I think the newer ones are ugly as hell and probably don't get decent MPG's...(the is just recent though)

Because it's ugly...and big :(

It is too big for a "compact" SUV (remember it was originally built on the "compact" Dakota, and too small for a full size SUV. Just like the new Dakota. And it is ugly.

Yeah, I know the "rocket brake light" thing wasn't well received, but the durango isn't *that* ugly (it's not Aztec-Ugly). Plus the inside is pretty nice and the ride of the Hemi ones is pretty solid. I guess maybe the price point is bad... I remember the original Durango was a great steal for people interested in that type of car; the new Durangos seem kind of expensive.
