I was raised in SLC (and San Bernardino area). Spent many days goofing off at the Great Salt Lake and that mud-hole of a glorified-pond south of Tooele, Rush lake (windsurfing). I left SLC before the Olympics and hear a lot has changed. Enjoyed skiing a lot at Brighton, Alta and Snowbird.
It was always nice to be able to get out of the city and go camping (in the west deserts) and there was no body else around for miles. Can't do that in Nebraska (perhaps I just don't know the places to go... my wife is the native). Most of the land is either owned, farmed or lived on.
How big is Tooly now? Are those jet-engine water pumps still out there to control flooding from the GSL?
