I am wanting to get the R/T. Probably order if I can't find what I want at any dealers. What kind of deals have you gotten either buying off the lot or ordering? Are you paying sticker? Trying to find out. Thanks to all!

Considering the Blue Book on my car for a trade in was $8,000, I think I got off good. :)
You got off good assuming you did not owe much or anything on the car previously right??? I will wait until I pay my Neon off before I get a Caliber, about 9 months. College does have its down side sometimes.:D

Thank you everyone for your replies. What I am looking for though is how much are you getting off of the sticker price.
Well, I think that can vary ALOT.

I paid $18,000 for my SXT with heated seats, 6 disc changer. I also got $8650 for my Ram truck I traded in and it was worth about $8000. I also got the $500 rebate. I also saw the invoice on mine and it was $17,100 so I basically got it for $500 over invoice.

I'm sure I was ripped some way or another, but I received the education discount (graduated from college within 2 years) and paid 17096 (listed for 17980)... 2.0L/CVT2, SXT-sport, w/cruise. Bought the 75k-mile/6-year extended warrantee (yeah I know I know... but last time I got the extended warrantee it paid for it's self... stupid Crapalier). And of course the 500 rebate from Dodge... traded my 02 Chevy Crapalier which I was upside-down on but I could no longer tolerate that thing and I was mad at Chevy (the local dealership, and corporate Chevy for coming out with such an ugly replacement, the Cobalt) so I couldn't stand owning it. Got 2500 for it... it needed some work.

But I'm still happy. I really like the Caliber and it is a car I wanted. Now, it better be reliable...

IMO, there's never been a early production car ever made that was more reliable in its first few months as compared to those made in the subsequent years.

The 2006 Civic has already been recalled for 2 separate issues. the Mazda5 was recalled almost immiediately for a pesky problem of catching on fire if the driver didn't realize they were in "Manumatic mode" ... and the list goes on and on.

If you buy a early production car, you're almost just asking for more warranty work on your car and a certain level of headaches. So, GOT, please don't go crazy if you have to take your car in ;) And I think the extended warranty in this case may be a good thing (assuming you didn't pay some crazy amount for it).

Yeah I heard about those Mazda5 problems... they are what steered me away from it. I think they are also maxing out the platform, weight and size wise... which can't be good for longevity.

1175.

Yeah I'm sort of prepared for re-calls. But one thing I like to do is get the feel of the entire dealer to see if I would enjoy going their for work. If I'm going to be bringing in my car (a really big deal in one's life) for work, then I don't want to be either hated or roughed up. So far things have been good.

If you can I would suggest you ask for Fleet sales. I ordered mine through Fleet since the dealership didn't have what I wanted. The local dealership here was asking $2,000 "additional markup" since it was new and I bet a few people were actually paying it.

I ordered a Marine Blue SXT with all the standard features plus the Sport package, Sunroof, Musicgate, and the Security Group. Invoice price was $18,701. Agreed and signed for $500 under invoice. No hassle, no negotiations. They just tell you what is the lowest they can sell it to you for.

Anyone can use the Fleet Sales? I thought that was for like rental companies and such. You just call them up, tell them what you want, and they'll tell you the price and get it to you?

p.s. how can i even sign into the fleet website to build a car?
