I just bought a used Dodge Caliber R/T last night. When you try to go on the highway and floor the accelerator the car won't shift into 5th gear it just redlines and won't shift into the higher gear unless you back off the pedal.

Any ideas? I'm taking it back to the dealer but don't know what they will say.

Yeah sounds about right... CVT + floored = redline. Besides try not to floor it.. its actually slower when floored.

Yes, if you floor a CVT it will just stay redlined until you let off. Thats what its supposed to do. You just have to get used to it. You can always use the Autostick if you want. I know the R/T comes with Autostick.

Guyz my problem is dodge calibre automatic transmission uses gear nor 1 and does not move to other gears . Why can be the issue

Have the Dodge dealer service change the CVT fluid and replace both filters.
