thats kind of what i was assuming, as nothing else makes sense

i just HOPE to god that its broken tomorrow, lol, and shows the same symptoms tomorrow, becuase i have an 8am appointment at the dealer, and it would be nice if the car actually re-produced this problem at the dealer, so that i can get fixed and its not an ongoing thing
The factory warranty that I have covers for loaner/rentals for any repairs that will take more than a day/kept overnight. Check this out so you don't waste a day waiting around. Only problem is that you won't know that til they check out the car and see what they can do for you.
A friend who owns a Charger took it in for warranty repairs but decided to get a rental since Enterprise was right across the street. He had a feeling it was going to take longer than the day and it did. The dealer did pick up the rental tab without any questions.

well, dependong on what the car does tomorrow morning, i might not even have them look at the derfroster

i origionally just needed oil and tires rotated, and if the defroster works perfectly like it did today, then ill just wait for the problem to pop up again, IF it ever does

These car are not like cars of the past. They are full of sensitive electronics.
You should NEVER disconnect anything without first disconnecting the battery.

The rear defroster and HVAC controls are digital, talking over the data bus.

You probably confused the system. It took a while to sort itself out again.

that is my only gripe about owning a dodge. can data

if thats the case, then woohoo to if fixing itself. If not then idk

weird though, that it would only affect one thing, and not multiple

UPDATE

Went to take my gf home again tonight, and its dead again. i called that one though, i said that it would work perfectly when its at the dealer, but come home and it would not work

i took a vid to show whats going on. going to make another appointment with the dealer. hopefully, if, in the day of the appointment, it decides to work, they can look at the video on my phone and use that as proof that something is wrong. I hate sounding like everyone else that bring the car into the dealer,

"it does it only sometimes, and its working right now, but sometimes it doesnt work"

I just wish it would either stay fixed, or stay broken.

Looks like the switch is bad. Good that you have it on video.

So did they already check out your shift knob?

yes, they fixed the door and shift knob for me

so what happens if i go in and its working? just show them the video of it not working, and ask them to replace it, or diagnose the problem?

I fear this will be something that decides to work when the car knows its going to the dealer

I'd just show them the video for better explanation. Whatever the case it'll help them out a lot as well and make their work easier. They might even thank you for it.
