Hi guys
on my way home I saw this scene:
On Macleod going north (into downtown) between Anderson Rd SE and Canyon Meadows Dr SE, a black Caliber SRT4 with original gunmetal wheels (or darkgrey) pulled over by a Calgary copper.
Somebody from this forum?
Hope the ticket itsn't that bad. But I know how you feel. Had my CSRT4 for a month and collected my first speeding ticket. :banger:

Two words....

Radar detector

LOL... too funny...

Btw not illegal in alberta.... from what I am told from my friends down there... you'll be safe with one of those...where I am we're not allowed :mecry:

hey man i got one on the dash so its all good...hey were you on 52nd street and memorial last night cant remember what time? and are you going to race city this summer?

If I lived in a state that banned radar detectors I would leave. If they have a right to spray your car with radar you have a right to know when they are doing it. Besides, the point is to slow you down, not make money. If your detector is beeping your slowing down, problem solved.

Well that's where you are wrong, in Canada the point is definitely to make money, that and our taxes are the way they get paid. And they say they don't have a quota system but they do, "enforcement" goes WAY up at the end of the month for some strange reason.... right, haven't made their quotas for the month. They may say it's for safety that they are patrolling for speeders but it's just a guise for GRABBING MORE OF OUR HARD EARNED CASH!!! :icon_flaming:

I used to have a huge issue with the local bylaw... and now we are cool....you just gotta make sure they know they're place in the food chain... LOL... I leave them alone they leave us alone.... just gotta work the system dude.... but becareful to cover your tracks....

You know as much as you want to get angry at the cops... it is their job...
At that note imagine if your working and people get pissed at you for doing your job? I mean really...if you don't speed or break the rules..sh!t won't happen... and DO NOT take this as defense for the cops really... I have probably a worse record than you...but that being said I know what to expect when you get pulled over... if you drive illegally all the time...your gonna get caught eventually.... LOL

Oh I agree they are just doing their job, but they also chose to do that profession and with comes a certain amount of disrespect. I totally work the system too, I usually get warnings anyways but I still believe that some of the rules are written to be a cash grab... sorry a lot of the rules/laws are written up to be cash grabs.

*disclaimer: sick at home drugged up on cough medicine, the following post may not make any sense :bigthumb:

I completely agree with regards to the highway traffic act and traffic violations. (not nessesarily with other areas of the law, but completely different issue)
Seems like the law starts out with safety in mind, and swings around to, how much can we make off making people safe? I think this "project ERASE" and sh!t like has an okay 'idea' that it started out of, making sure people are running cats is good for the environment, making sure peoples tires arn't rubbing their body from a crap lowering job seems to make sense, etc...
ripping your car apart on the side of a 400 series highway for a couple hours seems alittle excessive.

Really they should make inspections more regular or something along the lines of that, I see more regular piece of sh!t boxes driving on the street that are more dangerous/emit more pollution than a majority of cars they will/are gonna be targeting with stupid laws like that
