Got the new motortrend and they drove the car, they dont give any exact 0-60 numbers, but they do say that when they tested the ms3 it got 0-60 in 6.0 flat and they called dodges claim of 0-60 in 6.0 conservative, so i guess u can say they find the caliber faster to 60 than the ms3...

Motor trend got flamed for their last SRT4 review since they had it doing 13.6 to 100mph but 14.2 or something like that in the 1/4 mile time at 103mph.... those numbers don't match up...

They also gave the win to an RSX that lost in EVERY category to the SRT4 in a performance under 25k shoot out so since then i have cancelled my MT subsription since i think they are useless.

C&D got 5.4 for the MS3 and 14.0 vs. 5.9 and 14.4 for the caliber... same argument is true in that thread, no point comparing different cars with different drivers on different days in diferent conditions... wait for the head to head

Hmmm, thats very interesting!

But since the ms3 has the "faster interior", it will still be faster to most magazines that hate domestic vehicles (sarcasm)
lol, its funny because its true, the one thing nobody can talk about though are the seats, all srt seats are as good as it gets in sport seats imo, my srt-8 300 has awesome seats that are very comfortable as well, this caliber has seats like those in the srt8 charger and magnum which are great as well, but im sure, the "cheap plastic tupperware" isnt going to help it in the reviews, lmfao

Well i disagree with performance comparo's coming down to things like the interior... when the RSX won that one comparo against the SRT4 and sucked balls in all the tests that was dumb

But that being said objectively comparing two like cars for the sake of which one you'd want to spend your time in that is a very real part of a buyers decision

i am just passing on info as everyone else does on here
im not being sarcastic at you or any member here, im making fun of car magazines that do tests like the famous RSX win over the SRT-4 because its "interior was faster" lol

Although an interior is important, it doesnt help you in the 1/4 mile, 0-60, braking, etc...

Heck im modifying the dash on my car so that it suits me better lol

I just got the November Motor Trend the other day and they seemed to like the car. They do seem to mention the torque steer issue on more than one occasion but overall, called it a "wild ride". It looked pretty good in the pics and I'm liking the SRT on the engine cover.

they did seem to like it, there was a review of it in the dallas morning news by terry box this past sunday, and he said it was better than the subaru wrx as far as fun to drive and good looking goes

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't the difference in HP be an advantage to the Caliber? (With the same driver)

"C&D got 5.4 for the MS3 and 14.0 vs. 5.9 and 14.4 for the caliber... "

Wait for Sport Compact Car to get a hold of an SRT4 Caliber, they'll give it a sound review. They named the 2003 SRT-4 Sport Compact Car of the Year, so they're not biased against domestics.

You're wrong.

You realize how many things go into performance, even plain acceleration performance, other than the peak HP right? There are things like weight, power band, TORQUE, traction, etc. etc.

The power band could be very peaky in a high HP car, and it will lose in a drag race to a lower HP car that has a big fat torque band... so don't look at the HP number as the gauge of performance.

Very true.... people often forget it is tq. that gets the car moving, and HP that sells cars lol. And in that case the MS3 has more tq. But, the power bands look similar, with the srt4 being a little bit more useable stock imo

MS3 MPS extreme looks like a real beast. 281hp and over 300f/lbs torque. Maybe the SRT guys will take that as a 2nd blow and fight back with something special.
