Hi all,

well, I'm still out which color to get, and have been going dealer to dealer to see which colors are out, but most only have the black, and another has the orange.

Anyhow, I noticed that in some of those cars, the seats seem to be smaller, and less padded, like with smaller bolster on the sides. From what I understand, if you have the $400 side air bag in the seats, you get the thinner seats. I guess to make room for the air bag to deploy?

If you don't take the side air bag option (which are in the seats), you get the big bolstered seats.

Both seats have the same material, and color, and you won't notice until you see the two back to back that there actually is a difference...

I kind of like to be held in during cornering but that's just me.

The Calibers does pretty well in crash test. More safety is nice but I would rather go with the bolstered seats, driving around my Neon R/T which has bolstered seats are real nice compared to the Calibers seat. During cornering I do feel myself somewhat sliding in the seat a wanting more cushion. Getting in and out of the car is easy since the bolsters are low but I'd still go with the bolstered seats.
I have a friend who used to do custom interiors and might do some bolstering work to my stock seats, he said it can be done. Just need to find the time, too busy sleeping if not working.

I was the first "victim" of the air bag seats. Several people modified or outright canceled their orders when they found out.

I have not seen the more bolstered seats in person. I agree, the SRS seats do look a lot like the bigger seats. To be honest, they are comfortable and I don't slide. The upper bolsters are gone to allow the airbag to deploy. I ordered the safer seats to protect my face in case of a side accident.

I just wish that the information was provided when I ordered. After thinking about it, I realized that I probably would have ordered them anyhow. Unfortunately, they are also different in some of the stitching patterns. You will find side-by-side pics posted in the other threads.

How do I know what kind of seats are in my CSRT4? I never thought about this, I just get in and go and the seats are awesome, what's this all about?
