Greetings ,

Well ill begine by saying i'm a Canadian Srt4 owner , and in my city so far from what I know , the only one. this started 2 weeks ago I waqs at a light in about -10c weather. as i pulled off the light (5-10km/h) in the intersection I get a cel/limp mode.

I drove directly to the dealer where they kept it for a day ... simply re-flashed it and sent me on my way. And now this morning I came outside in the morning to warm up the car before leaving work (work nights), it started fine. I went inside to change my shoes and clock out and when i came back out to go home the car once again had a cel/limp mode.

I have had it for about 4 weeks , and it has roughly 3000km's on it. the dealership told me to drive it home and bring it in this afternoon or tomorow morning.

iit is a cyl 2 misfire ... so 2nd one in 2 weeks.

There have been several reports of cel/limp mode on the CSRT
some of which have been traced to fuel injector failures and
Chrysler knows about it.
 
Yeah, tell your dealership to contact chrysler about the fuel injector in that cylinder.

Suggest what someone else on the board did, have the dealer switch the injector in that cylinder with another, say cylinder 4. That way if the next time you get the CEL and it says misfire on cylinder 4, you got your proof.

ok well , car was gone for 2 days , they gave me a rental... at this point they have taken the plug/injecter/and coil from cyl 2 and spread them over cyl 1/3/4 so that next time it missfires he knws what part it is.

problem ...... he admited to me that once he finds the bad part he can not fix it, he said the car is to new in Canada (just under 4 weeks from release) and they can not get parts for it. They were not expecting to sell them in the dead of winter so close to the release date.

so the next cel the csrt will be down for 2-3 weeks while he orders parts from the US. Not a happy camper...

any suggestions how i should approach this?
 
Well I have never dealt with Unique but really if you were
service mgr wouldn't you order one of each suspect component
now,I realize they have budgets to deal with but with integrated
parts supply 1 injector,1 sparkplug and 1 coil assy don't
represent a whole lot of money to any one dealer.

Cyl 1 misfire today . Injector !

they cleared the code and sent me home, They are contacting the U.S to try and have an injector sent up . 17-30 days they have told me ... in the meantime I have the car and if it missfores again I have to bring it to them and discuss a rental.

under 24 hrs later it misfired again, the car is at the dealer untill next wed when the injecter can come from the U.S. they gave me a PT cruiser :(

it is really , but what can I do right? they gave me my forst 6 services for free, free 35% tint all around and 2 free full detailings.

the srt has just over 3000 km's on it , been to the dealership 5 times now, 2 of them over night.and i have had it under 30 days so they were worried about me trying to return it or get a new one.
 
I have had the same problem. the dealer was my regular stop after work every day. you can call the dealer in Ontario Ca. its not Dodge, its the Chrysler/Jeep. they are stocking the correct replacement injector. the service writer who has been a big help is Brian and the Tech is Steve. dont know last names. they know me though! they would probably send you the injector and you can charge the dealer. the car is definetely in Lemon law land right now. they should do anything to help. if they wont, PM me and I will go get it and send it to you. thats a ****ty problem that I am sick of.

Ok , well I just got home with the SRT , injecter is in and all is well ...

one issue , my clutch pedal now squeaks, so ill call them on that tomorrow, and i called them friday about the overboost flash to see if they could do it while they had it there .. they forgot and i asked them to do it while i waited. They tried 2 times to load the flash came to me and said that "the car will not take it" It will load to the scan tool but not to thew car.

they alsdo could not find my paper work so i ended up with no record, no scan , and they said they would call me when they find out why the car will not take it..


and so on goes my battle lol

I was refered to another dealership by a friend that is closer to my home and she is good friends with the service manager. They will honour my warranty parameters, and to get my business they have decided that all my oil changes are now free.

the flash was done while we talked about me coming there, anfd the plugs were checked for damage due to the missfire's ... so i'm satisfied... all is well and the CSRT has a new home.
 
if it makes you feel any better when i was checking my PCM for codes today before i dropped off my car at the dealership for service i noticed a number 2 misfire and i knew it was yesterday (thanks to my loud exhaust i could tell it was idling very rough and lopey) so i left a note saying there is a number 2 cylinder misfire and its most likely the injector...its really funny when you know more about the car and how to fix it then a dealership that is SRT certified across the board
