$2275.00

Install should not be more than an hour or so of labour if they know what they are doing.

Thanks for the info! I guess I will be saving for awhile before I can get that, but I do know that I would love to have the navigational system on mine. I'm big into maps and geography (it was my major in college) and I don't like how awkward paper maps are so it would be great for me to have something like that in my car. I think my dad should probably get it in his Stratus too because he's always asking me to go online and print maps out for him when he doesn't know how to get somewhere. I'd buy it on ebay, but I don't really want to have to install it myself.

Yesterday I ordered a Solar Yellow bezel from Shannon at United Radio. Just received it this morning. It was $52+$6 shipping compared to over $100 from Chrysler. Now I have to find a REC NAV receiver, probably from Mr. CD1 on ebay.
Edit: Mr.CD1 apparently is no longer selling on ebay. Ordered complete REC NAV still in box. I think the system is rev AF. I have a copy of the latest CD, made it on my dual layer burner. It works fine in my Magnum.

Good to hear. She seems to be the only person that can locate the correct part numbers for the Nav bezel. I bought the bezel and the mounting bracket thats needed but in the box for the bezel was already a mounting bracket. So now I have an extra one.

Just make sure that whomever you order the REC unit from that you're getting the latest revision (56038646AM) and the latest DVD map software (05064033AD).

Received my REC NAV receiver today, just finished installing it. Included latest AD DVD. Instruction sheet covers most late Dodge/Jeep installation including Caliber *** Compass. Only problem is location of GPS antenna, it doesn't fit flush where they want it mounted. I took out a few screws *** lifted the dash panel *** mounted it under there. Almost same location as my Magnum GPS antenna. Works just fine. Pix is dark, sun is setting.

Badpenny, where did you mount the antenna? I mounted mine under the dash top directly above the Nav unit. There is a recess there where the antenna fits perfect.

thats pretty sweet!!! once i save some money up.... i'm gonna get one... i tried a while ago to take the bezel off... but didnt have too much luck... how much force did you have to use, and where are all of the clips?

To remove bezel, turn on ign. and put shift lever in L (CVT) to get it out of the way. Disconnect battery neg. You can't get key out with car in gear. Pull shift knob up and off shaft. Use trim stick or stiff plastic to pry shifter bezel off. It's held with 4 clips. Pry and pull bottom of main bezel away from dash. Work trim stick up sides and pop loose the 4 clips on each side. Cables to HVAC controls will keep you from pulling bezel out very far. You can use a small screwdriver to release the black cable retainers from the white housing. They will snap back in place when you put things back together. The cable ends slide off the posts on the controls. Disconnect the three harness connectors, one on the emergency flasher and two on the HVAC controls. Bezel should now be free. :) The 8 clips are shown in the crummy pix.

I did not disconnect the HVAC cables. I just removed the 4 screws that hold the HVAC controls to the bezel. The only wire harness connector I removed was for the hazard light switch.

Nightshade, whatever you do, don't trade in your Magnum with the REC in it. They won't give you much in trade for it and its worth about $800-$1000. Take it out and put your old radio/bezel back in. The REC should fit your Caliber just fine. You'll need to replace the Bezel and a mounting bracket. It's a bit of a mess at dealers to get the bezel in any color other than Silver. If you need some other color let me know and I'll give you some info on the matter.

What the heck happened to your Magnums engine? 407hp at the wheels? I thought the biggest engine the Magnum had was the 5.7L hemi. Did they put the SRT8 6.1L Hemi in it?

Mr.CD1 is back on ebay, selling REC units for 899 to 1099 (older to newer versions apparently)

for those interested (myself included .. i reeaaaaalllly want to do this)
